This is an outdoor circuit, set around a football pitch, which has been made more interesting by the addition of chicanes and elevation changes, rather than just being a rectangle around the field.
Prior to taking to the track there’s a short safety briefing and drivers are kitted out with helmet, overalls, gloves and neck brace. The guys running the facility are very friendly make sure everyone understands the karts, flags, etc before driving.
The track surface is a little rough / broken up in the odd place, with one corner in particular having a bit of gravel on the outside. However the surface is generally absolutely fine and allows plenty of sliding / drifting. The track is a good length, with a long back straight and there are multiple passing places so it’s easy for all drivers to go at their own pace.
It can get a little strenuous wrenching the karts through some of the corners, so if driving for more than a single 15 minute session I would recommend taking a short 5 – 10 minute break before embarking on a second drive. The track are more than happy to do this, and our group was simply pulled into the pits for 5 minutes or so before the start of the second session.
It’s a fun track and quite easy to learn to get up to a good pace quite quickly. Good fun and all the better for being an outdoor circuit.
