Stayed for one night on our way back home. Everything about this B&B was first class. Great welcome, even left out a piece of cake for our afternoon coffee.
We stayed in room 3..... big bedroom and large wet room. Even had a nice outside sitting area.
Judith was the perfect host... We will return !

Room Tip: If you have limited mobility then room three has a big wet room

We stayed at Mount Farm again last weekend, breaking up a long journey south.
Easy to find, just five minutes from the M6, but wonderfully peaceful and relaxing.Judith is a wonderful hostess, very friendly, always a pleasure to arrive here for an overnight stay.
Very comfortable bedrooms, lovely hospitality, sponge cake in the fridge to go with a welcome cuppa..fruit and crisps, along with a selection of juices .
Outstanding breakfast, freshly cooked. We have stayed here half a dozen times and look forward to staying again in the future.
Great nights sleep as it is very quiet as you are in the countryside, but 10 minute drive takes you in to Carlisle for an evening meal.
Free wifi in rooms and a nice lounge to watch TV,although all rooms have a TV too.

Judith (J.M. Wilson on Google maps) is a farm girl gem, possibly the most accommodating of all the hosts on our trip through the UK. She is the owner and manager of Mount Farm B&B, located in Blackford a half mile off the main road. We met some members of her loyal clientele from Scotland and she rents to a local doctor. It is well sited for seeing parts of Hadrian’s Wall. Judith provided us with a bowl of fruits and an efficiency kitchen, which includes a washing machine. We found her generosity also reflected in her ample and delicious breakfasts. At BPS 60, our clean, comfortable and spacious double room en-suite was a real find. Highly recommended.

We spent two nights recently at Mount Farm. We enjoyed our stay enormously. Judith's friendly disposition was immediately obvious. Her tray treats on arrival were delicious.

Judith's guided touch tour of our barn apartment left Geraldine who is visually impaired at ease and secure in her unfamiliar surroundings.

Comfort, space, food, quietness, farm situation, excellent WiFi and disabled facilities made this nest a home from home experience

"Mile Buiochas Judith." ( in Gaelic Irish this means many thanks)
We will be returning.

2 wonderful rooms in the converted outbuildings which share a kitchen area so you have access to a fridge, sink, and washing machine should you need it - without any hassle. The room is very spacious with the bathroom bigger than some B&B rooms i've been in before! Completely dog friendly, and the owners dog is very obedient and friendly too - a real character who adds to the charm of the place.

A warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere - which on our visit included home made chocolate cake, and a fantastic breakfast which leaves you full all day. Perfect for a long journey as you don't need feeding again!

Although this B&B is literally 5 minutes from the M6 you would never know it as there is no traffic noise whatsoever. Carlisle with all its facilities isn't much further away, and the nearest pub (Near Boot Inn) for food is around 7-8 minutes by car, and although we didn't eat there because it was full, it did look very good - even though the outside wasn't quite so appealing.

Overall - I couldn't fault it and would definitely recommend it. There's absolutely no decision to be made between here and a motorway services motel!

If a breakfast that lasts all day, a warm cosy bed and a host who makes you feel this is your home from home is what you are looking for then this is the B&B for you. With a lounge available all day where you can relax and facilities available to prepare light snacks this is the perfect place to be whatever the weather.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 2 for easy access to the lounge and breakfast room. Rooms 3 and 4 for large double beds...
