What a fantastic find and excellent Value for money!

How lucky we were to come across this little gem on our way home after staying elsewhere in the area. We called in for a brochure and were so taken by it we knew we had to come back and stay to get the full experience! So that's exactly what we did. We booked by email and stayed earlier this month.

On arrival it was just as beautiful as we remembered, we were met by the owner and given a tour of the downstairs - the honesty bar, the guest lounge and the dining/breakfast room. It was all so cosy and homely with the roaring log fire. Infact it was home from home even down to the resident labs wagging their greetings. We stayed in the"West Wing" This really is the most beautiful bedroom - Talk about big it was huge! with fantastic views over the fields and mountains. It was so romantic with the lamps on next to the bed, ready for our arrival. The whole house is furnished with antiques and pretty ornaments even the bathroom! The bedroom was well equipped with a TV, DVD Player and Tea & Coffee making and the bed was so comfortable. Everything was heavenly - we even had fluffy bath robes as well as towels in the bathroom which we thought quite unusual for a bed and breakfast. The next morning just as we thought it couldn't get any better we went down for breakfast . We bagged the best table and sat looking out over the garden.. We started with the breakfast buffet.. Cereal, Fruit & Yogurt followed by the full cooked Welsh Breakfast - it was delicious and plenty of it, even the toast was hot and thats a rare thing in Hotels!

The attention to detail at Glangrwyney Court is exceptional and is obviously a labour of love on the part of the owners and their family. We are looking forward to our next visit.

I agree that this place is beuatifully equipped abnd furnished and in a great location. However, low quality tolietries ( no shampoo provided), worn and frayed bath towels and a breakfast which had clearly been kept warm for a long time, along with threats to charge credit card for missing shower gel and toilet rolls (!) left us a little disappointed. We had the impression tha ey wanted their cake and to eat it. Its a private house not a hotel so don't expect hotel service but we will charge £5 to supply cuttlery or £5 corkage on own wine.

I agree with the other reviews, this place is a gem! we stayed here for 2 nights as had a wedding in nearby Abergavenny. The Master Suite is beautiful with a VERY comfortable bed and great views over the garden to the front and fields to the side. We couldn't believe how reasonably priced it was!

Oh, and look out for the particularly friendly Persian cat!

We have just got back from a lovely weekend away at Glangrwyney Court. This was booked through a recommendation on the Crickhowell town website and I'm so glad I took their advice. We were lucky enough to stay in the West Wing. We arrived quite late on the Friday evening and nothing was too much trouble for Mrs Jackson, the owner. She showed us to our room - we must've looked like guppies with open mouths! - What an amazing room! I am a huge fan of Toile de Joey, and the room was decorated in a duck-egg blue and cream Toile, with matching accessories. There were plenty of period pieces of china and ornaments to compliment the decor. The bathroom was also spacious and everything was very clean. The bed was enormous, soft and bouncy with a very warm duvet and plenty of pillows and cushions. The views ofcourse were beautiful, across fields and hills. The whole house was home to lots of beautiful antiques and plenty of bookcases full of very interesting books. There was a guest sitting room and also a very nice touch - considering this was a B&B - an honesty bar, which allowed you to have an alcoholic drink if you wanted to and the guests were trusted enough to write down what they'd taken.
Breakfast was great - a full English/Welsh fry up and/or fruits cereals if you prefered. The staff were really friendly too - and so were the dogs! What enormous black labs!?? They would roll over as soon as you looked at them, to have their tummies tickled.
We will definately be back AND recommend it to friends and family.

An outstanding B&B at a rate of 66GBP (double) in 2004 for an exceptionally large room in the West wing. Friendly host and her wonderful Black Labs made for a wonderful stay. The large breakfast, beautiful furnishings, a flowered rear garden and peaceful surroundings make this a real find. Only a few miles from Hay-on-Wye and all the book stores.
