For our thirteenth holiday in East Anglia we spent a little less than a fortnight (end of April-beginning of May) in the Gig House at Orchard Farm.
The least we can say is that we had a wonderful stay in this spacious, comfortable, tastefully furnished and very well-equipped cottage. It is not cluttered with unnecessary gadgets and everything is in perfect working order.
The excellent bed provides for long nights' sleep, that is until "the dawn chorus", which is part of the countryside experience!
The weather was a bit on the rainy side so we mainly enjoyed the garden from the inside, that is the peaceful view from the sitting-room.
As we travel to Britain to speak English and meet local people it was great to have the owners next door. Ian and Janine, who are very knowledgeable about the area, gave us plenty of useful advice and tips about some "hidden gems" in the vicinity.
In short, the Gig house is the perfect rural retreat, away from it all and at the same time very close to everything -the location is perfect for touring East Anglia - so we would not have the slighest hesitation whatsoever to recommend it strongly.
