On hols in Brecon in July.Just turned up there one friday evening.Advised of 30 min wait as food cooked fresh. Not a problem with the amount of real ales on tap.Varied menu with local produce at reasonable prices.Free popadoms and dips, which were very nice.Meals were good portion size and extremely tasty and filling.
Very cosy and friendly.Lady who served us was really nice.
Would advise to pre-book as some people were turned away.
Would recommend a visit for both ales and food.
Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After an unfriendly experience at the nearby New Inn @ Ystradfellte, we went to the Tanners Arms. A different world altogether. Great selection of local and guest ales, board games, pool/darts and friendly staff. We were 9 in total and they could not have been more accommodating. The food was excellent, succulent starters - black puddings, tempura prawns and pates, followed by delicious local mains - lamb in all its succulent forms, fish and vegetarian options - also excellent value. The chef even gave us all a lift back to our lodging after our meal. The bar staff were friendly as we merrily drank, ate and played bar games.

If you are looking for quality food, and good ales in a rural pub near Brecon this is it - cannot recommend this highly enough. A big thank you to all the staff.

A real hidden gem, doesnt look much from the outside, inside very nicely presented, family run pub with very good choice of food and drinks, mainly locally sourced. The food is prepared by the husband - excellent presented and great taste!, the service is run by the wife, very pleasant, nice and helpful. Definitive worth a visit.
