Hotel is 10/15 minutes from the terminals. On arrival it looks like a big sprawling hotel but for our experience it was quite compact - maybe as our room was close to reception. Check in was efficient.
The room sadly is in desperate need of a make over, it was very, very dated. The bathroom was fine and the shower over the bath was powerful. Towels and bedlinen all very clean and the bed comfortable.
We ate in the french restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our food, there was also a good selection of wine and the service was excellent.

Great location- couldnt get much closer to Gatwick. Didn't like having to pay £5 for parking though. Room was clean and a reasonable size. Had a poor nights sleep...the bedroom doors banging all night and a busy front carpark from people coming and going to get flights was unbearable. A good choice of food options- pub grub, gastro or fine dining. we opted for pub but paid £12,50 for a small plate of fish and chips...poor value for money.

Overall, i dont expect much from an airport hotel but this was more expensive than a no frills travelodge and therefore wanted more from my stay.

The Copthorne Gatwick is a modern but traditional, quaint looking Surrey / Kent style hotel.
We paid just over £80.00 for one night’s stay plus 10 nights parking. The nice thing is your car remains on their grounds, not shipped off to some distant car park.

The hotel has a very cosy Reception and a friendly and efficient reception service.
The room we had was large, clean and had a comfy bed. Overall we had a really good night’s sleep.

The bar and restaurants were seriously overpriced so we just went to Tesco (a couple of miles away in Crawley) and bought some food to eat in the room.

We organised a Taxi service to pick us up at 7:30am for Gatwick. It cost 0.50p more than the bus.
The Taxi arrived bang on time so overall no problems.

On our return we did catch the bus as it was outside Gatwick when we arrived and the Copthorne was the first hotel stop so all in all, really good.

Yes the hotel is pretty tired, the back windows need changing and the decoration and carpets in places needs some serious updating. And yes the corridors are a bit dark and smell musty but you don’t sleep in there (hopefully).

However for the price you pay this place is seriously better than a Travel Lodge and better service than Premier Inn and in a great location. For somewhere clean, comfy and quiet to sleep with great service and airport parking at a sensible price this is a great place to use. I would certainly have no hesitation in staying here again.

We were originally booked into the Gatwick North Sofitel hotel for one night as we had an early flight to catch. Due to a mix up with our booking, the hotel was overbooked so the Sofitel put us up here. From the outside it looks like a fairly old but cosy hotel. Inside it's really dated and smells musty. We arrived late, about 22:30pm and waited for about 10 mins to be seen by a receptionist. He managed to find our booking and then we traipsed about another 10 mins to our room. When we arrived, it was a very outdated twin room (we'd booked a double). We waled all the way back to the reception hoping to get a double room. The place is huge inside and totally dead, we figured they must have a double room free. When we got back to the reception, they told us that as the Sofitel had made the booking for us, they could give us a double room but it would cost us an extra £25. As we were only going to be sleeping in the room for a few hours we decided to slum it with the twin room we were originally given.

I would definitely not stay here again. Poor customer service, fusty, tired old rooms and uncomfortable beds!

We stayed overnight with 15 nights parking for a lot less than you would pay for parking at the airport.
You enter the carpark and are greeted with a well presented looking hotel. We parked up and went into reception and was immediately greeted in a kind and professional manner.
We were then checked in and told about all ammenaties and asked if we were requiring wake up call etc and also asked about how we were getting to airport. There is a shuttle bus but we opted for taxi which they sorted for us.
Ok the rooms are dated and decoration is not that good, but rooms are spacious and clean and they do have a shower to die for.
Yes it is an old hotel that has seen better days but if you expect a full 4 or 5 star hotel for these prices you live in cloud cuckoo land.
It is a good value for money overnight stop for the airport and I would not hesitate in using it again.

Mix up with booking on arrival was not a good start. Room supposedly a superior had seen better days and had an awful damp smell throughout. Drinks ordered at the bar had to be chased but things did get better with a nice dinner in the main restaurant. Shame it spoilt the start to our holiday.

We stopped here for 2 nights before jetting off on honeymoon. Our room was furthest from reception so it was annoying when our room keys failed to work on 2 occasions although we got lots of exercise trekking to and from reception. We arrived quite late - about 8/9 on the first night so decided to have a nice meal in the bar. Big mistake! £13 for a microwaved sausage and mash which was very bland and £13 for fish and mccains oven chips. What a joke! Needless to say we avoided eating there again. We booked the hotel due to its 4* rating (might need to be reviewed) and its car parking service with shuttle bus. We didn't find out until we got there that we have to pay for the shuttle bus £9 a journey for 2. All airport parking with shuttle service that I have ever stayed at has always included a free bus. A local taxi firm (rh10 cars) has a flat fee of £9 for the same journey so rather than risking the hourly bus we opted for taxi. All in all it was a very disappointing experience. The only impressive part of our stay was the concierge who was very helpful. Would probably opt for the premier inn in the future!
