“You'll need plenty of time”
Reviewed 27 May 2013

The service was so slow, waited ages for food and when it finally turned up the food was over cooked. Only 2 staff working, avoid coming here unless you have a whole day to waste

“Forgot how good the food was”
Reviewed 7 March 2013

The Cherry Tree was my local a couple of years ago and was a regular haunt not only for the delicious food but for the friendly bar staff and the great hosts Oscar and Lucinda. We went back for the first time last Saturday and the food was still as good as ever. We went for the set price lunch menu and my partner and I had chicken livers on toast in a peppercorn sauce which were divine followed by home made fish cakes which were also great...the set price if my memory serves me right was £11.95 and it was fantastic value for the quality of food.We will not leave it anywhere near so long before our next visit

“Our Local and a good friendly pub”
Reviewed 21 January 2013

Copthorne suffered as have many villages with the closure of the local pub. Thankfully the guys who took over the Cherry Tree a couple of years ago have done a good job at turning around what was, quite frankly, a bit of a dump into a good local that has developed a strong following.

Food is typical pub gub but well cooked and presented. Nice garden for the summer months.

There is a regular Monday night quiz night and there is usually live music on a saturday night.

If you're in Copthorne and want a pub it is here or the Prince Albert - no choice in my opinion!
