Having visited the area for lots of years we have only just discovered this pub, at least now we have! One of the best pub meals we've ever had, with my dad enjoying his steak and ale pie so much as to say it was THE best he'd ever had. I had fresh dressed crab which was lovely, and even the homemade chunky chips were a delight to eat! Great staff, great atmosphere, great food. In busy times you'll need to book a table (we were lucky to get seated), think about requesting a table in the conservatory (especially if you're a bigger party), as it's lovely with ivy set on a well-lit beamed ceiling. Looking forward to our next visit.
