My husband and I were not surprised by the quality of this hotel after our first impressions on arrival. We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome from the reception staff who couldn't have done anymore to welcome us and help with our arrival. The room we were given had beautiful views over the Firth of Clyde and the hotel gardens below. The room facilities and amenities were all provided in ample stock and the room itself was very well presented and seemed spotlessly clean. We decided to dine in the hotel for our evening meal and the menu provided had a great variety of homemade choices and deserts. The dining area was lovely, spacious and had a great homely atmosphere. When the food arrived we could not have been happier.....it was delicious!!!
Overall, we were most impressed and would recommend to any friends of ours. Many Thanks.

Just returned from another short working trip to loch lomond Scotland, stayed again at the Kilcreggan hotel again. The hotel is a listed building with great views across the Clyde.

The owners and all staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The bar / restaurant area as just been renovated to a high standard. The food choice is excellent and highly recommended even if just visiting the region.
The hotel has great character and all rooms are spacious, clean and well laid out.
I really loved the steaks and having a few beers whilst relaxing after a hard day at work.
I would recommend this hotel for all choosing to stay in the area.

I will be returning in the new year. :)

I agree with previous reviewers that the hotel would benefit from some redecoration however that said the room was clean and the bed very comfortable, food was excellent both evening meal and breakfast were faultless. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and the location was very good will definitely stay again on my next trip to the area

Room Tip: Room two was large and had excellent views of the Clyde

As a family we drove down from Paisley to revisit my wife's childhood haunts in Kilcreggan and popped in here for lunch. Our first view of the hotel on entering the carpark was a medium sized conservatory crammed full of junk which immediately created a very poor impression. The bar area seemed deserted but a very pleasant and smartly dressed young guy appeared and led us into a very well laid out diningroom with an good view of the Clyde estuary -- albeit through dirty windows and it hadn't rained for at least a week! Our meal was excellent, reasonably priced and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is "tired" but in this current economic climate things cannot be easy. Some TLC is needed and we hope to be back next summer.

We visited recently for lunch. It was a lovely day and decided to sit outside. The garden is a bit dishevelled and the hotel dated. We both ordered scampi and chips to make things easier as we were the only people there. Order taken they brought out the condiments and to my complete horror the vinegar was full of dead insects. Words totally fail me. It was totally disgusting and yet they had not noticed! On pointing it out the response was a casual ' sorry about that'. An unbelievable error and makes you think about there standards throughout.
