This is like the Ritz of the b&b world without having to pay the the cost. You will want for nothing at Castle Lodge. Owners so friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. They have thought of everything that you are ever likely to need away from home. Even down to 4 different types of sweeteners for your morning cuppa. This was our second time there, and will keep going back there for our trips to the Brecons. 11 out of 10. Perfect stay. Thanks very much. Can't recommend it highly enough. Tim & Trudie

Room Tip: Only two rooms, but have now stayed in both. Both excellent. Love the four posters.

A great hidden tip for all backpackers and nature lovers. Great B&B with lovely rooms. Clean, comfortable big size beds, rooms with lots of small details, fresh flowers, different teas to choose, soft big towels. Delicious english breakfast with fresh mushrooms and sweet tomatos and a good choice for diner or snacks. A great lounge only for the guest with a big tv, internet, a kitchen to use.
Our small family was so happy with this choice and will recommend to everyone who wants to find a great place to stay near to the black mountains. Thank you for the great stay.

Excellent, definitely a must try B&B in the Brecons close to all the best attractions from mountains to waterfalls, close to many little villages and larger towns and cities. Lyndon and Mandy provide a friendly and comfortable place to stay with many facilities. The beds are really comfortable and the rooms spacious and clean there's a lounge with a 3D TV, a kitchen and pool table that can be used. . there is plenty of parking and a pub within walking distance They provide books and leaflets about surrounding areas. Breakfast was delicious certainly a good start to the day.

Room Tip: they only have 2 rooms so it is very private and both are top quality

I have only just gotten around to adding my review as really busy. Usually I'd have just thought oh well it's over a month ago now but I am unable to get it out of my head that I must write a great review for the Castle Lodge as it truly was a fantastic experience. Warm, cosy, friendly, great rooms, great food, clean, everything and definitely more than you could expect from a top quality b and b. Oooh and you get loads of sweets in the room - sorry guys I ate loads, couldn't stop. Only thing I would complain about is I'm not there now!

We stayed overnight on a trip elsewhere and had the fourposter room. The premises are near to the A40 but sufficiently sited to minimize noise. There is a kitchen with every conceivable utensil, a pool table, darts and a large sitting room with computer. The bed is extremely comfortable and there was a warm welcome and good breakfast. The owners try to think of everything even down to providing a jug of fresh milk for the coffee tray. The room has a huge good quality television. My only minor winges are that the toilet seat in the bathroom is too small for the excellent pan [toilets and seats come in different sizes - I lead a sad life!] and the fact that although the room has good curtains to darken the room there are two "Velux" skylights which do not have blinds so that the early sun gets in to wake the travelers!

Room Tip: Room 2 [four poster] is fun!

A vey very good B and B with wonderful hosts. We stayed in the same room as the previous reviewer (6 May) and can reliably inform all that they are wrong. Only one of the 3 windows didn't open and the "old flowers" were plastic!!
Very comfortable bed, very well stocked room, wonderful breakfast and an amazing 3D TV if you have time to relax!!
Would recommend to anyone.
