Everything was great. Especially the staff. My group was booked in on the Dundee all inclusive ($250 plus tax with all golf and meals included for the weekend). Amazing price. The rooms and some of the amenities might be outdated but the course, food and staff are top notch. With prices like this, I wasn't expecting the decor from Trump Plaza.
This is our groups (20 guys) 2nd year booking this deal and we couldn't be happier. We've done the Highlands for 4 years, we've done PEI, Bell Bay etc.., but Dundee has offered us the best deal with the best service thus far (and a gorgeous golf course). Thanks to Shelley, Elaine, Dorothy and all the great staff, see ya next year (a little shout out to Conrad, keep up the great work).

PS. For any golfers out there wondering how the course is, don't. It's in amazing shape (tee to green) with the the most and best breathtaking views on the Island. All the other course in CB couldn't combine to outmatch this course in scenery...and that's saying something. Contact me anytime if you want info on this resort...or any others on the Island.

My wife attended a family reunion here and had a great time!!! We have stayed here numerous times in the past. The resort overlooks the Bras D'or Lakes and is very easily accessed. The resort is well maintained and has a nice restaurant on site as well as an 18 hole golf course. We had the opportunity to attend an open air concert a few years ago featuring Matt Minglewood and had a great time!!! The concert was held on the tennis court on a beautiful summer evening and was enjoyed by all!!!

Went here several times to eat - the food is always good and the desserts even better... Yes it is pricey - but you get what you pay for.. if you want to spend 5$ on a meal - go to McDonalds people!!!

We decided to do a weekend getaway when Dundee Resort came up on Groupon, a good deal for $59. The resort itself is a little out of the way but no more than 20 minute from Port Hawkersbury and the scenery is beautiful.

The resort itself has seen better days, we stayed within the main building and had a room on the 2nd floor with two queen beds. Every aspect of the resort is in need or repair or upgrading, its past its prime I guess. The grounds and exterior are maintained but not well, just enough to look good if you're driving by. The interior needs new carpets throughout, fresh paint and please remove the 1990's wallpaper of golfers and flowers! Our room was clean but had visible spots on the carpet and ceiling. The bathroom seemed to have been freshly update which was a nice touch. The furniture looked fine except for the fact that they painted the wood grain top and the paint had started to peel and chip. The television was an older model CRT, about 19" in size and they only had 6 channels even though they advertised Bell satellite.

The beds were in rough shape, not very comfortable and the linens were well worn. The A/C unit was loud, very loud... Keep the room at a cool temperature though so up to you, hot and quiet or cool and loud.

We ate in the main dining room and although the view was excellent, the service was okay and good was good but way overpriced. I had the soup to begin and it was excellent, my wine then had a seafood pasta and I had a chicken dish, both were okay but again, nothing to rave about. I would of expected to pay $12 to $14 per plate, not $21 and $23. We didn't stick around for breakfast, Tim Horton's seemed like a better alternative and it was.

Dear Exercitus:

Thank you for your comments. Glad you enjoyed your dining experience with us. We appreciate hearing from our guests so we can address any issues in our winter season. We are in the process of painting our hallways and upgrading some resort amenities and our televisions.

Hope to see you again.

Sincerely,

Dorothy Cooper

We decided to stay at Dundee because we had a half price coupon (Groupon). Thought it was an excellent way to stay at a resort for a decent price. It would have been worth the $70 ish dollars we spent on one night if there were cheaper food options. Because Dundee is in the middle of no where you have to travel a long way to go somewhere else to eat, not an easy option with a 1 yr old. So we ended up spending $50 on supper and then $27 on breakfast, the food was decent, service was just ok, would have been fine if the prices had matched the ok food and ok service... but was way overpriced.

While we were there the wireless internet did not work at all, anywhere in the resort, and cell coverage was only found in the dining room. The rooms are again fine but outdated and carpets were worn and falling apart, there was someone else's comb behind the dresser signalling not perfect cleaning, the water was hot enough to burn, not using low flow shower heads is wasting tons of water and contributing the the possibility of getting burned.

The hiking trail was great, the golfing looked like it would be great if we golfed, the view was nice, but our room had no view.

The outdoor pool was closed, even though I think Mid Sept coudl still warrant it being open. The indoor pool was again fine but very old, in need of new liner, ugly, the sauna didn't work well, the hot tub has apparently been closed for years, the slide was a nice touch but was broken on one leg making it very wobbly and potentially dangerous. So much chlorine that we all felt sick after swimming.

Basically it was what I would expect from a $60-80/ night motel, and for that price it would be fine (except for having to pay for crazy overpriced food!). It makes a nice 'motel' type accommodation, NOT a 'resort' and not at full price.

Dear Krystol:

Thank you for your review. We have had our maintenance staff address the hot water issue and they are looking into switching to low flow showerheads. The weather this September was exceptionally warm however usually the pool being closed in September is never a guest concern. We presently do not have a hot tub in the indoor pool area. We are presently addressing some guest concerns and we are developing our upgrade/updating plans and will be working on this during the winter. Thank you again for your input.

Dorothy Cooper

It is located in the middle of nowhere :) so unless you enjoy kayaking, golf or lawn darts, it might not be your cup of tea. We are golfers so the golf course was a nice average course with views of the water, the hotel room was large and clean which is important but the furniture looked home made from the 70s, and there was a regular bathtub with four jets for your legs (none for your back) in the same room as the bed - it was set into a large triangle area which is normally meant for a jacuzzi tub for two persons as we have used in other hotels, so here you have to take turns if you want to warm up. No fridge/no micro because I think they want you want to eat at their restaurant. And as one posted mentioned the walls are bare, not one picture which was odd.The internet in the main building where we were was awful, didn't even work most times so very frustrating. The staff were all nice. The inside pool also had an area blocked off where the hot tub was. The restaurant unfortunately wasn't very good, strange looking dishes like my fish which looked like a big wrinkled toe out of the bathtub :) ..i think they poached it with a batter on it which made it soggy and wrinkled, and unfortunately everything was ice cold - even bad food is not that bad as long as it is hot. We ended up driving all the way to Port Hawkesbury to eat dinners after that. Also make sure you leave lots of time as the restaurant is slow even for breakfast, there was hardly anyone there the three times we used the restaurant and still we just barely made our tee times. The food was better at the clubhouse surprisingly, spouse really like the quesadillas and the staff was nice. There is a little playground and apparently they have fires at night sometimes and croquet etc and swimming, so for families with young kids would likely be the best fit for this place if they got a deal. I think if you are from a big city perhaps it would be appealing to be way out in the boonies on a lake as it is quiet. I think 'resort' is a bit of a stretch as it conjures up luxury images which it is not, but it is self contained so I guess it really is a resort. So overall we give it "average" as it was ok but for us we will not go back.

Room Tip: maybe some a/c work better than others, ours needed to be put on in the morning to make it cool for...

Dear LoveMy Spouse:

So happy to hear our staff were accommodating during your stay with us. Yes our location is "off the beaten path" however our guests do like this feature to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

I apologize for your bad experience in the dining room however we do not usually get negative comments about the food - it is usually the opposite, but I will definitely make sure the chef is aware of your experience. At any time our servers would be pleased to provide any assistance in making our guests' dining experience a good one.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Sincerely,

Dorothy Cooper
