e spent one night at the Premier Inn Rochester after a visit to Diggerland and Chatham Dockyard.
This was our second visit to this hotel.
The hotel is ideally situated for the Medway leisure area and Diggerland just being a few minutes drive away.
Check in was automated via computer screen which was easy to follow and quick. There was also someone on reception the whole time of our stay to help with queries.
Our room was located on the first floor. Overlooking the side of the hotel and bin area, close to the railway. The room was very clean, tidy and spacious. There was a king sized double bed plus single bed, tv, desk, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities etc.
The bathroom was good, quite modern and very clean. The cleaners had overlooked a couple of wet towels which were hanging behind the door from a previous occupant. These were removed promptly by the receptionist when mentioned.
We did not eat at the hotel as we drove to nearby Rochester for a meal in the town. We had one drink in the bar during the evening upon our return. It was very busy, drinks were average price, and a few places to sit were available.
Personally, I didn’t have a good night sleep due to a noisy occupant in the room above, who was stomping about at 2.30am. Otherwise the room was quiet, no noise from the railway or road and the bed was comfortable. The room was a little hot but we could open the window and the aircon was adjustable and once altered the temperature became comfortable.
This hotel is in a convenient location and we would return. Next time I think a room on the top floor would be better. The receptionist (Aimee) was very helpful and suggested we call ahead next time to ensure a quiet… top floor room.
