Stayed at this hotel for a business trip. Although it could do with a lick of paint in the corridors the room was nice. Decent parking (free) staff didnt bat an eyelid at me checking in late at night. Nice pool facilities and the bar is friendly and inviting. The bar menu is pretty poor though (only veggie option is pizza).

Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the staff are very friendly and genuinely seem to want to help and engage with their customers.

Would definately stay here again.

the location and service is good. but our room smelled really bad of damp. when we first walked in i was gasping for air, as they tried to cover it up with airfreshner. i opened the window and hoped it would go away after we had used the pool, but it didnt it was a strong smell all night!!

Thank you for your comments but very confused as we don't have bedrooms that start with a 5?

Have you got the right hotel?

As with any hotel all complaints are logged but I cannot find anything?

If you can perhaps give the hotel a call and let me know which room you stayed in we can investigate further as to my knowledge none of our bedrooms have been reported as being damp.

Thank you

Kind regards

we stayed at the regency for my cousins wedding last weekend and have to say that although the hotel looks like it could do with a good lick of paint and new carpets in a few places, the staff were very friendly and helpful and our rooms were quiet and peaceful away from the function rooms. The breakfast was plentiful, with a good range of items to choose from. There is a nice little courtyard that the kids enjoyed running around, but it would be nice if there was a little play area or climbing frame maybe. Overall it was a good value for money place, and i would recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from the function rooms and bar as they often have music tribute nights et...

We stayed at the Regency the night before we flew out of Birmingham airport. We were quite nervous before we arrived due to many negative reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. Reception staff were helpful, the room was a good size (it was quite warm though) and the taxi transfers were excellent! For what we paid we felt it was very good value for money and would not hesitate to use this hotel again if we were to fly from Birmingham again!

We stayed one night at this hotel and it was every thing we could have wished for. Parking is free and the rooms are very clean and nice. The Taxi to the airport is free as well, and all you have to do is tell the staff what time for the taxi and they give you details of how to contact them on your return so they can order the taxi for you.

We asked for a 4am morning call but set my alarm just incase but did not have to worry the wake up call came.

Good job well done finding this hotel we will use it again next time we fly from Birmingham

Room Tip: Could not say about the breakfast as we did not have time to have it as we had a very early start.

We stopped here the night before we flew to New York, we thought it was very good value for money. The room was clean and comfy. The staff were helpful. The taxi transfers worked very well indeed, lovely cars and drivers. My only suggestion would be for the hotel to offer more of a meal deal offer, it seemed the bars dinning rooms and other public areas were empty, which made it feel uncomfortable when we popped in the bar for a drink. Had the hotel offered a deal for breakfast and evening meal we would have stayed to eat rather than going down the road. But that's just a thought.

Booked via Groupon a 90 minute spa day with the use of leisure facilities. The entrance to the leisure facilities, was dim and poorly decorated with a very tatty reception area, totally unmanned until we went to ring the bell. The actual spa rooms were 2 rented rooms on the first floor, with the waiting area on the landing, walls were tatty in the hall and badly in need of redecoration.

However the 2 beauty therapists were very welcoming and also administered their skills efficiently.

When we had finished we went to use the pool facilities. The changing room left a lot to be desired, and was swimming with water on the floors throughout. Some lockers were damaged and one of the showers had a curtain angling off with no light either. The pool was tiny and taken over totally by 2 men lane swimming, therefore leaving no other access for a swim. The jacuzzi was the smallest I have ever seen, and when running left the eyes watering. The whole area of the pool was tatty and needed a complete revamp. Not the type of facilitynI personally would pay membership for.

Did we get good value for money, yes with the voucher and for the massages. But there are many other spa days in better locations.

Room Tip: Not applicable as it was a hotel with leisure and spa facilities

I am glad you found the beauty therapists welcoming and efficient.

I have taken your comments on board regarding the Leisure facilities and started an investigation into why the desk was unmanned. Work will be progressing shortly with regards to the changing room areas.

I do hope you will consider us again in the near future.
