Following a recommendation, we took family here for an early evening meal. Although they don't take bookings on an evening we were seated almost immediately and served promptly. A bit noisy when busy - the sound of all those voices seems to echo around the main area - and the music is a bit repetitive. However the fish and chips are delicious. The batter on the cod is simply the best I've ever tasted, light and crispy. The extra chips (for anyone who isn't already full!) and the bottomless soft drinks provide excellent value. At about £10 per head for a good sized portion of fish and chips, with a serving of mushy peas, bread and butter and an unlimited drink, it's not that much more than a takeaway and a lot more enjoyable. We've been again since and the second visit was just as good. Now we know the food and service are consistently high quality, this will become a regular place for us to eat for a quick mid-week meal, although with alcoholic drinks available, it's just as good for a weekend evening meal out as well. Thoroughly enjoyable!
