“Comfy bed.. small room... bit scruffy”
Reviewed 7 February 2014

Stayed here for 1 night on a £29 deal. Had a room on the 3rd floor. There was no lift available so I had to drag my stuff up the narrow stairs. The room was typical premier inn but it was a lot smaller than other premier inns I have stayed in previously. The bathroom in particular was tiny with no bath just a free standing shower although this was sufficient for us. Some of the decor looked a little tired but generally the room was clean and the bed was super comfy. I did however find the room quite cold. My partner had breakfast in the adjoining pub/restaurant and was disappointed. The continental selection was poor and he said his cooked breakfast was of poor quality with what tasted like cheap quality sausages and fatty undercooked bacon. Not the best premier inn we have stayed in but it was fine for a base to get your head down for the night for £29!

Hotel was nice and rooms where clean and comfy.

Nearly had a heart attack when awoken early by a fire alarm, The pub had reasonable prices but it wasn't really friendly with have more than two people in a room and seemed very against it.

Would be good to have the option of a triple room too.

Apart from that it was a good stay and the bar maid was fantastic.

Stayed here for 2 nights (Sun & Mon) with my wife whilst visiting the NEC, which was an easy 15-20 min drive away. There are Premiers closer to the NEC but we got this one at a reduced rate which made it even better. Hotel was typical Premier, very friendly and helpful and the room had everything we needed. Slightly smaller than some rooms, it was comfy for the couple of nights we stayed and had a great shower. A car alarm at 3:30 am was irritating but not Premier's fault. The attached Saracen's Head inn is part of the All Inns chain and was equally friendly and helpful. Decent menu and the food we had was OK, good pub standard but it's not a high quality restaurant so don't expect miracles. Steaks were a little on the tough side, fish was good. Comfortable environment, too many televisions for our liking, pleny of locals and residents alike and most of them eating which is a good sign.

Premier Inn was ok, clean towels. Rooms could do with a bit of tlc, but were clean and tidy which is all you could ask. I was in an attic room, it was a trek up 3 flight of stairs, I didn't see a lift available. It was raining all night, and was kept awake by the rain lashing off the roof, and the roof window. I'd ask for a different room next time

Room Tip: don't get attic room

Corridor stunk of cabbage and the maid barged into the room twice early in the morning when I was getting ready for the day, undressed at one point. Very upset as my privacy was invaded and did not expect rooms to be tidied until I left !
