The potholes are caused by the erosion of water from two rivers at the start of the Blyde River canyon. The site is reasonably accessible if you have mobility issues - although you will be restricted to a specific walkway. The site is quite interesting and the waterfalls and running water over the rocks is visually interesting. If you are agile and careful enough you can walk over the rocks to get quite close to the falls and water for some excellent photos. Worth visiting.

Drove to Bourke's Luck potholes on Sunday, 6 July 2014 only to find that the gates were locked. No notices posted an no-one to ask what is going on.

See the forces of nature at work. Water has created this miracle of potholes and beautiful scenery. Spend some time to sit and listen to the rushing river

Not duplicated anywhere in our country....so whilst you are on Blyde River Canyon, don't miss this site! You can plan your picnic break to be at Bourke's Kuck Potholes as they have braai and picnic facilities. If you missed crucial stops at Graskop or the other smaller towns, this is the only place I found I could buy bottled water. Vendors at God's Window, The Pinnacle and Three Roundavels are not permitted to sell foodstaff.

This attraction is well worth the visit and a few hours stay. The potholes are phenomenal and show the power of water. The potholes have a series of bridges and walkways to facilitate a round trip, where you can see every aspect of the attraction. The waterfalls, both small and large, are also beautiful. A great spot to just sit and take it all in. Well worth the stop. The markets at the entry are also fun. You find these stalls where ever you find an attraction but we enjoyed chatting with the stall holders and bought some fun and interesting souvenirs,
