Given the limited number of food options on the island outside of Tarbert, I was truly surprised at how nice this little spot was! Quality food and drink, noticeboards with local information for visitors, clean and comfortable decor... one couldn't ask for more. This was easily the best restaurant we visited in the Outer Hebrides and would not have been out of place in a bigger city on the mainland.
We ate here twice when we were on the island; the first time we were doing a circuit and scouting out the ferry times, and the second before our ferry departed. Ingredients were largely fresh and local, which contributed to its charm.
If you're visiting near key meal times, you may have to book - it's clear that locals and visitors alike come here for a nice dinner, and they had a few large parties there.
Wifi was stable (a luxury on the islands!) and they had a spot next to the table where I was able to charge my phone - again, another luxury for those of us wild camping!
