We stayed overnight en route to the Auvergne on the recommendation of friends. We were not disappointed. Lesley and John made us very welcome, and despite them being english, it was a typically French chambre d'hote experience. The house is lovely, furnished very much in the french fashion, the beds very comfortable and the meal, prepared and served by John, was delicious. We were disappointed that they were unable to accommodate us on our return journey, but we intend to visit them again when circumstances allow.

We had a very relaxed and enjoyable night with John and Lesley - like other reviewers, it really felt like we had known them before we met them! Delicious food from John and despite having snow in May, the log fire and a few glasses of wine soon made us forget the awful weather outside! Really hope to return again, as one night was far too short a time to be there.

I have started to loose count of just how many times we have stayed at John and Leslies' B & B and we only started going there from this time last year, it must be 5 or 6 times at least. It occurs to me that I have been looking forward to my overnight stay a little bit more than my holiday, it is like being at a 5 star hotel but better because the geniune friendliness and welcome cannot be equalled.
The rooms are exceptionally clean and in my mind John is far more than a cook, he is a talented chef - the meals are superb.

Lesley and John could not have made us more welcome in their beautiful home - it was like visiting friends. The food was delicious, the house charming and the wine very good! We only had the one night as we were returning from Provence en route to Zeebrugge but we have every intention of returning soon to once again enjoy the La Bagnosienne experience and explore this lovely and interesting area. Many thanks to Lesley and John, our perfect hosts.

Room Tip: We stayed in a very pretty room entitled La Cassis but I am sure all the bedrooms would be charming...

As the first official, full-blooded, authentic Canadians to visit La Bag, we absolutely, whole-heartedly and enthusiastically agree with every positive comment about this authentic French location, their beautiful and comfortable home, the awesome food, their conscientious, warm hospitality and family-like greeting as well as their helpful local insight. Our 4-day visit to this B&B and getting to know our hosts was among the highlights of our one-month long trip.

They do it all right and then some. Comment after comment was so positive and the stories I read from guest after guest are true. Lesley and John are genuine. They should conduct industry workshops and write a ‘How To’ book on creating an unforgettable B&B experience for guests. The only negative: you have to leave… Say hello to Darcy. It’s no wonder visitors are arranging their plans to revisit them. Add us to that list!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are charming. Bathrooms renovated.

We had a 6 night stay with Leslie and John in April this year (2013) and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend La Bagnosienne to anyone looking for a lovely homely B&B, in a historic building, lovingly restored, and with a genuine welcome and wonderful food. I would recommend anyone staying to book dinner as John's cooking is real treat. Definitely worth more than an overnight stay as there are some lovely places to visit nearby.

Room Tip: Definitely book dinner not just because the food is fabulous, but the nearest restaurant to have din...

I first visited La Bagnosienne in 2012 during a walking holiday. When I returned to France from Australia with my wife a year later we revisited La Bagnosienne so that she could experience what I had experienced a year earlier. She was not disappointed!
John and Leslie's b&b, an old historical building that has been tastefully renovated, is the ideal place to stay and enjoy the scenic Burgundian countryside. The rooms are beautifully decorated but, at the same time practical. John's evening meal can only be described as gourmet! It's a simple meal, but with flavours and freshness, second to none.
All in all a wonderful place to stay with the perfect hosts to look after your every need. Who could ask for more!
