Matt and Lynne Taylor would like to extend our warm thanks to both Lesley and John for making our stay, once again, so memorable.

We received a warm welcome on arrival and enjoyed a four course dinner prepared by John in the evening. There was plentiful supply of wine and we even enjoyed a bottle of champagne as we were fortunate enough to celebrate Lesley's birthday with her!!!

The location is ideal being in the champagne region of France and 5 hours (exactly) from Calais.

Lynne was pleased to reacquaint herself with Mr Darcy (the cat) who was just as pleased to see her.

We will always recommend you.

Lesley and John are fantastic welcoming hosts at this beautifully restored chambre d'hote in the rolling hills of Burgundy. Everything was perfect: lovely room tastefully decorated, relaxing sunny garden, fantastic food. It would be easy to spend a week here exploring the chateaus, abbeys, Roman ruins, and vineyards in the surrounding area. We had wonderful conversation, great travel advice and generally a superb experience. Highly recommended!

I originally booked only one night for our return journey from Provence but on seeing the website decided it would be a waste to stay for only one night! I was right! Lesley and John were so welcoming; I felt we had known them for years as soon as we stepped inside. Darcey the cat was also charming - see photo of him sheltering from the attack by the nesting swallows!!!
John 's food was excellent so we ate there on both nights. Our room, Cassis, was so pretty.
Their home was both French and English and they have many French friends so have become very integrated in the French community.
Their knowledge of the area is great so it's an area to come back to stay in and not just to pass through; We visited Abbaye de La Fontaine and Chateau Bussy-Rabutin, both fantastic places to go. Also a quick trip to see the Source of the Seine before leaving for home.
So loads to do in this very attractive rural area!

Room Tip: All rooms have been attractively decorated

We stayed overnight en route to the Auvergne on the recommendation of friends. We were not disappointed. Lesley and John made us very welcome, and despite them being english, it was a typically French chambre d'hote experience. The house is lovely, furnished very much in the french fashion, the beds very comfortable and the meal, prepared and served by John, was delicious. We were disappointed that they were unable to accommodate us on our return journey, but we intend to visit them again when circumstances allow.

We had a very relaxed and enjoyable night with John and Lesley - like other reviewers, it really felt like we had known them before we met them! Delicious food from John and despite having snow in May, the log fire and a few glasses of wine soon made us forget the awful weather outside! Really hope to return again, as one night was far too short a time to be there.

I have started to loose count of just how many times we have stayed at John and Leslies' B & B and we only started going there from this time last year, it must be 5 or 6 times at least. It occurs to me that I have been looking forward to my overnight stay a little bit more than my holiday, it is like being at a 5 star hotel but better because the geniune friendliness and welcome cannot be equalled.
The rooms are exceptionally clean and in my mind John is far more than a cook, he is a talented chef - the meals are superb.

Lesley and John could not have made us more welcome in their beautiful home - it was like visiting friends. The food was delicious, the house charming and the wine very good! We only had the one night as we were returning from Provence en route to Zeebrugge but we have every intention of returning soon to once again enjoy the La Bagnosienne experience and explore this lovely and interesting area. Many thanks to Lesley and John, our perfect hosts.

Room Tip: We stayed in a very pretty room entitled La Cassis but I am sure all the bedrooms would be charming...
