Good things: great location to snorkel, one restaurant around the corner. The unit has everything a house needs, including washer and dryer and dishwasher.
Less good things: you should rent a car to stay at the retreat. The cab Ride is $72 dollars from the airport to rum point and another $72 back to the airport and the car for 9 days cost us $240. If you don't have a car, there are no places to go buy food. The closest (very small) grocery store is 10 minutes drive from the retreat. The regular supermarkets are 30 minute drive. With a car you can visit different parts of the island too.
Our unit claimed to have snorkeling gear but it didn't have anything.
The toilet kept clogging.
If you are a light sleeper You will be woken up every morning by the rum point resort cleaning team because they use a very loud (similar to a leaf cleaning) tool to clean the sand I guess. It sounds as if they were cutting grass but there is no grass here so they must be cleaning the sand. They should really do this later in the day or change tool.
It it is a windy day in the cayman, rum point is very windy.More
