“Well worth the visit!”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

Incredible home cooked food and genuine hospitality. There are 3 daily menu choices, we had the home baked beans and toutons with rhubarb cake for dessert. It was all mouthwatering! Enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and chatting with the hosts. Would highly recommend this gem to others looking for authentic cuisine at the end of a scenic trail.

“Wonderful!”
Reviewed 1 August 2014 via mobile

Had a tour of the museum and a visit with the owner. Told local stories, played spoons and the ugly stick along side owner. Food was great, experience even better. 9 years of "Where to Eat in Canada"! Not to be missed.

“Real Newfoundland Outport Experience”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

We like driving Newfoundland roads till they end, and at the end of a long day we arrived at the end of the highway in La Scie. Where to eat? Everyone told us "Go to the museum". So we did. That was in 2009. We've been back 4 more times now. The museum has a tea room / restaurant that serves a real slice of Newfoundland's past. Not only are the meals great, but you can bet that you'll make friends there, hear some great music, and feel the magnetic pull of real people in a real place that time nearly forgot. We love this place! We're from Toronto. Maggie and Steve.

We're from Michigan and used Google Earth to locate a place to watch the icebergs but was presently surprised to find this place! Amazing hospitality, food, music and yes it even had a view of a harbor full of icebergs. Someone needs to pinch me because I couldn't have dreamed up a better post card perfect slice of heaven;) A must experience place if you like quaint home cooked down to earth eateries off the beaten path.

“Perfect ambiance”
Reviewed 25 November 2013 via mobile

The owners have just received the well deserved Tourism Ambassador of the Year award. The museum has very interesting collections of artifacts from the Baie Verte Peninsula, mining history and family history. The traditional Newfoundland cuisine is the best, freshly prepared in the Tea Room, and the interesting discussions of local history will give you lots to remember. Worth making several visits.
