“Mixed emotions...”
Reviewed 18 June 2013

As many people have mentioned before, this property has great views, this is because its about 100ft above sea level with a 1:12 driveway. After 2 weeks you will certainly be fit! It about a 12 min brisk walk into town centre over a hill! The town beach is a 5 min walk away at bottom of road.

The property itself is well kept & spotlessly clean. we stayed in maisonette and there was ample room. The kitchen and cutlery were a bit dated, the beds very hard but great if you have a bad back. The one thing I didn't find acceptable was lack of hot water, we tried it various times and were lucky if we got it warm. Most mornings I had a cold shower, last I checked I wasn't a magdolene nun. Also while there is aircon available you to pay 37€ a week extra to use it. This was not advertised in the Monarch online descriptor. Monarch & Comos say it is a 3 star. I would expect a 3 star to include hot water & aircon, not as extras. I would rate it 2 star.

The hosts George & Nickos were very friendly.

Room Tip: Most have sea view

The location is great, it is just off the bus route to all the beaches of Skiathos, bus stop 1 is Skiathos Town, 5 is Fengeros and 26 is the last stop at Koukounaries (which is 2 Euros from Fengeros). You can walk easily into town, cross over the main road (behind the supermarket) and walk through the little roads, simple enough and takes 15-20 mins. It is also 5-10 mins to the nearest beach (Megali Amos Beach).
Almost all of the rooms have amazing sea views, ours was above the bar, which meant you could get wifi in the room! Not sure if you could get it in the other rooms, but there was always room in the bar area for wifi. Our room was cleaned daily, had toilet paper replenished, had hand soap and air con. There was the standard 2 hobs, pots and pans and cutlery. The pool/bar area was pretty quite as most people went to the beach, but was clean and always manned (normally from 8am to 10pm).
George and Nikos ran the villas/studios, and were friendly and helpful, and were great hosts.
We chose these studios as they had sea views, were walking distance to town, to the beach and on the bus route. They have a pool and bar, and on reflection are very clean. It does have a hill, but its the price you pay for a sea view (and it would only be an issue if you have problems walking). We emailed George directly to book the rooms.
I would highly recommend these studios.

Have been coming here for many years and have never been disappointed. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean. The pool and pool bar area is well kept and the surroundings are beautiful. The views are spectacular and well worth the walk up the hill. Can’t wait until my next visit!

Having stayed here many times I thought it time I did a review. The owners George and Nikos run a wondeful place to stay, the views are breath taking and the cleanliness first class. The room are above average for this type of accomodation in Greece. The pool area and all areas of the complex are always kept in tip top condition and as always a pleasure to stay here. The hill up to it is a little steep but well worth the effort.
Looking forward to our next trip. Keep it up George and Nikos

It was more than we expected and we are very pleased with both our room, the cleaning, the owner, pool, way to the beach etc. Takes about 15 min walk to the citycenter and less than 5 min to the nearest beach!

We stayed for 7 nights with Nikos and George at the Fengeros Village in beautiful Skiathos. N & G had been very helpful before we arrived and had answered questions for me which I had e-mailed direct to them. They noted from our booking preferences that we'd like to be "off the ground floor and with a sea view" - and boy did we get it! We were on the top floor of a staggered complex with the most magnificent views over the sea and the small islands between Skiathos and Skopelos. Accommodation was basic as expected of studios but very clean, there was a bar and a small pool with lots of sun loungers. Quite a steep climb up from the main road and a further 100 steps to our lofty room but this meant that even enjoying the happy hours in the many swish Skiathos town cocktail bars, and the superb cooking in our favourite tavernas we did not gain weight on this holiday ! The walk to the lovely Megali Ammos beach (down the steps) took 5 - 10mins (including a stop at the supermarket for provisions), into Skiathos Town via the small streets rather than the main road was a about 20 mins to the centre, and bus stop No 5 was 5 mins away at the bottom of the hill on the main road. You could then take the bus to Koukounaries beach in one direction and into town or the Port in the other. All in all a good location, but not for those who have difficulties with steps.
George arranged for a taxi for us to get to the airport on departure and we got there in plenty of time to beat the queues - and even to watch a couple of 'planes landing. If you've been to Skiathos before you'll appreciate what that means!

Room Tip: Most rooms have good view - higher up the better view, but more steps.
