We had 2 nights here while visiting the bustling City of Santiago. The Villa with its amazing quite and green garden is well styled and has very clean and big rooms.Nani, the host takes care of her Clients, has good Information for the City and also prepares very delicous meals. It was the best Casa Particular on our 2 1/2 weeks tripover Cuba.

Our room was better then a regular 4/5 star hotel. Warm welcome and great room with eye for style and interior. Evening with nice conversations with hostess and hosts. 10 minute drive from down town Santiago. Absolute must do this casa!

A beautiful house, with comfortable accommodation and great food. We were well looked after by our host, Nani, and her team. Nani was very helpful in connecting us with her contacts such as drivers, guides and restaurants. It was an enormous bonus for us to interact with interesting, well-informed people who could give us insights into the history of Santiago and it's place in Cuban historl.
We enjoyed delightful breakfasts, encountering fruits we have never tried anywhere else and a delicious dinner in the pretty, tropical garden at the back of the house.

Room Tip: The casa is a short cab ride from the city centre, cost about CUC5.

Santiago is a bustling city and La Hiedra is the perfect antidote. The accommodation is beautifully appointed with large airy rooms. The gardens are magnificent and the perfect tranquil place to enjoy a cold beer after a hectic day. We had our evening meal in the garden and the food was delightful. Unfortunately we only had one night there and had to leave before the formal breakfast to fly home. Even so Nani was up with us and provided with a delicious breakfast before we left for the airport, which is just 15 mines away. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: We had two rooms opening on to the garden and they were very good

We stayed for 3 nights at Casa La Hiedra and loved our time there. The Casa is in the quiet suburb of Vista Alegre away from the bustle of Santiago and we were able to relax in the beautiful garden in between our sightseeing excursions. Nani organised taxis for us and gave us lots of useful information about places to visit. Our room was very comfortable with a large bed and lots of space. The en suite bathroom was well appointed with a very efficient shower. The meals were delicious with breakfast and evening meals served in the garden- if you stay here we recommend the evening meals - try the house specialty lamb dish. The family were so welcoming - my husband watched Premier League football with the family and I enjoyed chatting with Bertha the head of the house and Nani about Cuba and the part played by Santiago during the revolution - look for the original newspaper cuttings in the hall. we loved our stay and would definitely go back if we visit Cuba again
