Have visited this restaurant many times over the past year - mainly for very good Sunday breakfasts (spot-on poached eggs and full English; also excellent porridge) and for mid-week lunches with a varied selection of tasty meals.
Not yet had poor food or service - we'll keep going back!

Thank Simon T

We visited this garden centre cafe mid Sunday afternoon. Even though the cafe was not full we found the atmosphere extremely noisy. They had obviously been busy for Sunday lunch and many of the tables needed clearing. As the staff were clearing the tables they scraped each chair across the stone floor and several times dropped things with a loud clatter. I realise it is the type of floor which causes the noise but the staff should realise the noise they are making and should be trained to lift each chair. I do realise that arriving and departing customers can also scrape chairs along the floor. This noise continued all the time we were there. Also the tomato and mozzarella cheese ciabatta with pesto was very poor. There was hardly any tomato but a great amount of pesto which left a strong taste in the mouth. The accompanying salad contained very small triangles of tomato. Obviously a shortage of tomato day. This was pointed out to the chef. We will not return here.

My wife and I have been a number of times to this place, it is very pleasant and busy, there is a good selection of freshly prepared food ranging from salads, panini, Roast dinners to Pizzas.
The young staff are very pleasant and accommodating always serving with a smile.
My one negative point that can be easily remedied is on a Sunday lunch time it gets so busy that all tables that were vacant had RESERVED labels on them! and we watched as several people came and being unable to find a table without RESERVED on them had to leave.
In a German Restaurant we visited in Cologne they had RESERVED on tables along with name of the party and more importantly the Time of arrival, you were able to sit at these tables on the understanding that you vacated by the given time. Surely that is both good for customers and business.

This was our first visit to Belle and Joes; we will definitely be going again. I had the house salad and it was superb; very good salad vegetables with beetroot and dressing, topped with plenty of cubes of excellent Stilton and very light, tasty and crunchy croutons. A lovely pot of Earl Grey and a generous slice of the best treacle tart I've had in a long while.

A lovely little restaurant in the Garden Centre with welcoming, polite and helpful staff. And the food is very good too! We are usually here for breakfast and the choices are good, with the staff happy to provide what you want from the menu (but this does not apply to the special - quite rightly). Well worth a visit.
