“A beautiful spot with great hosts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2013

We stayed here after a wedding in a nearby village. The booking was really straight forward and the hosts were very understanding about our late arrival home. The room we had (a ground floor double with ensuite) was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable (with feather duvet and pillows), and the bathroom very spacious. The breakfast was excellent - beautifully cooked and lovely high quality ingredients. We would certainly return to the bed and breakfast should we find ourselves in the area.

Had such a wonderful stay here recently whilst visiting family local to Bath.

Our hosts Maria and Kim were so warm and friendly and made us feel instantly at home. (That's if our home was a stunning old farmhouse with beautiful gardens, haha! :)

Our room faced over the farm yard and had lovely old windows. One slight snag that they didn't seem to open, it might have been nice to let in some morning air, but then again - they were very old, original metal windows.

The room itself was HUGE and very neatly and prettily decorated with original paintings on the walls, and beautiful fresh cutwork cotton bed covers and Laura Ashley bedspreads on a charming old brass bedstead. It was just a delight to wake up in in the morning!

The bathroom which was ridiculously massive and contained a bath in which a football team could happily end a match was accessed via a secret door in the wardrobe run and down some steps. Our daughter thought she'd died and gone to Narnia!! :) Again, just a niggle to note - the door could do with a handle / hook and loop on the inside to make it easier to close and ensure privacy.

The garden is lush and pretty and you can sit out and read your paper of a morning, so peaceful and nice.

The jewel in Claridge's crown has to be the breakfasts. The table is set out with beautiful white linen, and lovely blue and white and gilt china. The quality of the food is sincerely the best I have ever had, anywhere. The poached eggs were straight from the hens, just incomparable. Better than 5 star breakfast, and by such friendly people.

Our hosts were so gracious and make the whole B&B thing look so effortless. Bravo.

They were particularly nice to our little girl, spoiled her rotten letting her play with the baby chicks and putting on a special pink duvet cover for her, and other little kind indulgences.

If you are considering staying in the area to visit Bath and Wells, I cannot recommend this place highly enough for a comfortable, safe and hearty welcome.

We were genuinely sad to leave. Looking forward to a return visit next time we are over. Thank you!

This is a wonderful B&B. Set on a lovely farm in the outskirts of town, the views are lovely. The rooms are lovely, we had an en suite room.

What sets this apart are the hosts, who are wonderfully friendly and accomodating.

And then, the breakfasts: what can I tell you. The full English is awesome but you soon realise that anything including the home produced eggs is magic. Make sure you have the poached eggs.

It is so good we went away and came back again for another night.

Nice breakfast, nice people, but the price (£90 per night) seemed to be on the very high side in the event given the fact it's the first ensuite bathroom I've ever stayed in without a shaving mirror!
Weather was cold and the heating just, only just, about coped. Overall, could do with quite a bit of investment to justify the 'boutique' price for a B&B.

A wonderful experience I should say. Maria, the owner was very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Room is really large, clean and nice.

WiFi is available.

Breakfast was good enough, excellent service.

The friendly atmosphere created by the owner and family members cannot be ignored, its the best.

Bottom line, I loved this stay and if you are considering Claridges Farmhouse, do not hesitate, its the best you can get, you will be treated very well.

We stayed at the B&B for a weekend prior to our friends getting married at Priston Mill. We arrived in the dark so we did not get to appreciate fully the grounds and the impressive building.

However, once we were in the Hallway (yep that impressive) we knew we weren't going to be disappointed. We met our friends in the Dining Room, a tastefully decorated room with high ceilings and a big dining table. They were just finishing their takeaway which the owners had kindly let them eat it there and provided crockery and glasses for wine.

We were shown the rooms our friends were occupying first and we thought wow. And then we were finally shown ours and we were all buzzing as we couldn't believe how lovely the rooms/ B&B was.

After a good nights sleep (but woken by the cockerel rather abruptly!) we enjoyed a lovely relaxed breakfast with tea and toast flowing when needed.

Maria and Jenny were very friendly and answered my many questions about the B&B, decor, the fabulous paintings and mural.

We would certainly come and stay at the B&B again as it was so reasonably priced and a great experience and we have recommended it to friends too.
