“Clean and adequate small Hotel between Bath and Bristol.”
Reviewed 23 September 2012 via mobile

Smallish Hotel on Bath road in Keynsham. It is actually 2 separate buildings and our room was in the adjacent building. Hotel is perfectly acceptable and clean but we did have an issue with the shower which wasn't well handled by the staff. Basically the shower temperature was just full hot and uncontrollable and our neighbour had a similar issue. The staff were unable to solve the problem. We were unable to shower and on checkout the staff got upset and aggressive when I complained. Eventually resolved with a £15 discount. BTW Mehak Indian restaurant in Hotel down the road very good.

We had a friendly and efficient reception, the room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, the staff were courteous and helpful and the breakfast was plentiful with considerable choice. We thought it was good value, would stay there again, and would certainly recommend it.

Room Tip: The hotel is on a main road, so the rooms at the front get noise from traffice, which, on a Saturday...

We found ourselves looking for a hotel unexpectedly in Keynsham on a Friday afternoon in August. When we arrived at the Grasmere, the Receptionist informed us that there were 3 rooms available, We were shown the first and accepted it without hesitation (it was very acceptable), mentioning that if it was quiet, we'd be happy. The Receptionist then suggested we looked at a smaller room, "over the house", which was in a separate building and possibly quieter. We looked and booked. This was one example of the helpfulness of all the hotel staff - after all, we were satisfied with the first room and the Receptionist could have settled for that. During the evening, we asked for additional coffee for our room and was presented with not only more than enough coffee to see us through until the morning, but also more milk and biscuits.

The room (No 26), although not large, was very well equipped, very clean and very quiet.

The full English breakfast (served by friendly, smiling staff) was supplemented by a small buffet bar where we served ourselves to cereals, fruit, coffee and juice. All of the breakfast items were excellent and certainly set us up for the long day ahead.

The only slightly disappointing aspect of our stay was the shower that looked very impressive, but wasn't as powerful as it looked. A minor criticism that won't stop us staying at the Grasmere again.

The hotel is located two minutes from a pub (The Talbot) where we ate in the evening - we won't be doing that again, should have eaten in the hotel - and 10-15 minutes from Keynsham High Street's restaurants, banks, shops, etc.

Room Tip: The hotel is situated next to a busy road and so rooms at the back will be quieter - for example, No...

We visited friends near Keynsham in late July and found this small family hotel a fine place to stay at along with 3 other couples who all thought likewise too !

The room had a decent en suite, breakfast was really nice and the bar and garden to the rear are nice too and all at a reasonable price. When we visit again we shall stay here again ! Bath is close by and a great place to visit too !!!

A well run, spotlessly clean hotel 15-20 minutes from the centre of Bristol. The room was well presented and breakfast well cooked. Almost a five star stay but for some reason I didn't feel quite "at home". I would stay there again though.

My Fiancee and I stayed at the Grasmere Cort Hotel, on our way to an Old Skool Dance Festival at nearby Bath Racecourse. The Hotel is situated in a quiet Residential Area of Keynsham, and whilst Parking Spaces at the Hotel itself are limited, there is ample space for Guests to park on the Road at the sidel. The Hotel is family-run, and all members of Staff went out of their way to be polite, friendly, and very helpful from the moment we walked through the Front Door to check in (Natasha, the Assistant Manager, even gave us directions over the Phone after we got slightly lost on our way there!). The interior was clean and extremely well-maintained, and although the Rooms were basic, they were very comfortable and totally fulfilled their purpose. The Bar was extremely cosy and comfortable, and stocked a good variety of Wines, Spirits, and locally produced Ales and Ciders, all of which were reasonably priced. Our Board basis was Bed and Breakfast; Meals were served in the Lounge which again was cosy but comfortable. There was a good selection of Breakfast items, all of which were well cooked and presented. The Hotel is an ideal base from which to explore the attractions of the surrounding locale (the Hotel's Reception containes a plethora of Leaflets detailing these), and we would have no hesitation whatsoever in booking here again. A highly recommended place to stay.

not far out of the touristy hustle and bustle of Bath, a nice littel peaceful space to recoup/regroup before moving on to the next adventure. Friendly helpful staff, nice atmosphere, great local ale, clean and comfortable room. Hot chocolate and nice biccies in the room, not too many frills but a good price and very comfortable. Is on a mainish road but due to being set back and double glazing, noise was not a problem. Free wifi, easy parking, easy to find, good beer (not quite cold enough for an Aussie in England but cant have everything). Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Room Tip: Mum said her room was nicer-upstairs, but no lift and I was very comfortable anyway
