The food here is very good but overpriced for what you get plus you have to pay for tap water. The "bottle" of wine was also only 50cc, not the usual 75cc. Make sure you read the small print!!! I'm sure there must be better restaurants in the town.

very good menus and everybody finds there something he like. You can eat great Pizzas and also Menus with meat. When you like to eat there, please make a reservation bevor - they are allways fully booked.

We had a family dinner at the Scala which is located on the main shopping street of Davos amd within the same building as the Hotel Europe. The Scala has a good a menu selection with an Ialian orientation and the portions as well as the food taste are excellent. We ordered Pizza, Pasta and Cordon Blue and all meals were excellent. The service was friendly and very attentive. The restaurant was full which shows it must be good. They also offer outdoor seating as well as a nice bar. The decoration is unique with a mixture of romance, tradition and a touch of modernness. The Scala is not a "fancy eatery" which is sometimes a nice break to the usually "high-end" RESTUARANT scene in Davos.

My friends and I were recommended this restaurant by an associate. The fact that it sits below a casino should have alerted us to the game of chance we were about to engage in. We'd booked a table for seven, though when we arrived there was some confusion between booking a table for seven at 8pm and booking a table for eight at 7pm. Once seated we were ignored for the next twenty minutes until one of the rather harassed staff noticed us. We ordered drinks and a jug of tap water, but that was as far as we got, food would have to wait. Eventually the drinks came and we were permitted to order food. After waiting nearly an hour, our mediocre meals were delivered in a desultory manner more becoming of Fawlty Towers.

The pizzas were unappealing, the liver dish was overcooked, the vegetarian choice bland. We conferred and agreed to pay the bill. After several attempts to attract a waiter we were presented with a bill which included an 18CHF charge for tapwater. Measure for measure, it was more expensive than ordering another beer.

In typical Swiss style, the waiter shrugged and pointed to small print on a menu we hadn't had on the table. A brief argument, a chat with the manager and we decided that discretion was the better part of valour and left.

It was the worst pizza in my life. The base was hard like stone, cheap meet from grosery store instead of Prosciuotto Cotto and caned mashrooms instead of fresh Champgnions. Thats Prosciutto e Fungi pizza Scala way.
