I think this is probably the nicest b&b I've ever stayed in...the room was gorgeous and spotless, the setting was very pretty and so quiet, the breakfast plentiful and delicious and the owner Jo was lovely. All that combined with the close proximity to Skomer makes
Monks Haven the perfect spot to base yourselves for a few days in south west wales...a real hidden gem. Thanks Jo see you next year.

We stayed here in June to see the Puffins on Skomer...the attraction here was to have Alex collect the boarding passes on the day, very early. We had the Brynach room, it is light and airy, beautiful location, we met our friends and had a wonderful time. Being post op I couldn't walk too far, Jo dropped us at the local pub in the evening and the landlord dropped us home, what service and all done with good humour! We were so lucky to have good weather and saw 1000's of Puffins on Skomer.
A truly wonderful stay with warm welcoming people, Jo and Jan were brilliant and the Welsh breakfast delicious! Thank you we will return

Room tip: Brynach is great, quite big but all the rooms look nice

Hi Karen, thank you so much for your kind words! It was so nice to have you here with Laura and your respective husbands! Considering you were only 7 weeks post op I think you were doing pretty amazing anyway, but the least I could do was get you up that killer hill! So, so pleased you all had such a great time....I know you said you'll be back so it will be fab to see you all again! Best wishes to the gang! Jo

What a find! A very well organised set up in a beautiful location, attention to detail was superb. We were warmly greeted by Jo on arrival, plenty of parking space in the lovely grounds. The twin room was, I think, more compact than the others but perfectly formed, with a powerful hot shower in the wet room, tasteful decor and everything we needed provided including dressing gowns and slippers. There were individual small patios overlooking the lovely gardens and we enjoyed the very short walk over the bridge to breakfast. Good choice of food cooked to a high standard, with excellent home made bread and preserves. Our tickets for Skomer were collected for us and an ample packed lunch offered, so this made our day trip effortless and was the main reason for booking. The setting is peaceful and almost magical, with an old church on the boundary and a lovely 5 minute woodland walk to a small beach and the coast path. Good WiFi connection in rooms. I would happily go again but try to book earlier to enjoy one of the larger rooms next time. Loved it!

Room tip: This place is so special I would choose the best room your budget allows.

Hi Alison, I'm pretty sure this is you from what you have written! It was a pleasure to have you and Robert to stay with us! It is so lovely to hear that you would love to come back...this is always a great sign for me that we are getting at least most things right for our guests! Take care and perhaps we shall meet again next puffin season or another time in the future! All the best, Jo

Enjoyed our one night stay here. Friendly welcome and had good breakfast
Very near Skomer to see the puffins
They will at busy times go and get you your tickets for the boat trips out to Skomer, so saving you hours of queuing.
