“Homely and charming”
Reviewed 2 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Location was perfect for us though it is quite remote. It's a working farm but what a homely place to stay. The landlady - Hilary - couldn't have been more accommodating. Rooms were clean & comfortable and if you like books the farmhouse has an extensive collection. Finally, I have to mention the food - fantastic home cooking with organic meat straight from the field. Excellent value for money.

“Charming”
Reviewed 19 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We had stayed at Weston Farm 3 years ago and were so completely blown away by its rural and rustic charm that we had to return. We didn't think the b&b could get any better but Hilary and Carey have done a wonderful job of turning a stay into a real experience. It's a taste of the good life! We followed all of our hosts' suggestions and had the perfect country getaway, including a long walk around the farm (shepherded by two of their friendly dogs), a visit to some historical sites, a local whisky bar, and more cream teas than we ought to have indulged in. On top of that, Hilary's breakfasts, lunches, and dinners were delicious and expertly prepared - better than most restaurants we've eaten in - mostly made with locally sourced ingredients (beef and eggs from their own farm) and all offered over excellent company. The rooms themselves are beautifully decorated with sinkably comfortable beds and views that we still dream of. We can't wait to return to this idyll.

“A real taste of Scotland”

An hour away by car from the Glasgow airport sits Weston Farm, Dunsyre, where we stayed with friends from June 2-6, 2013. Don’t let the hour drive scare you away from what will be a really unique experience. Weston Farm is a working farm, all 900 acres, with animals of all kinds, and a house that is the real thing, with character. The bedrooms are large and the views from the bedrooms are spectacular. There is a sitting room with a fireplace which was a wonderful place to relax, talk, and have a whisky (Scotch for my American friends) after a day long trip suggested by our hosts. One will be surprised to learn how centrally located this pastoral setting is to both the large cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as other points of interest. Go if you must to the larger cities but if you miss staying at Weston Farm, you have missed a real taste of Scotland.

“Could not possibly have been more satisfied”

I had no idea what to expect when I booked our stay. What I discovered was a gateway to many unique Scottish experiences. We were close enough for multiple day trips (North Berwick and Bass Rock; the Falls of Clyde and New Lanark; Dawyck Botanic Garden; not to mention Edinburgh and Glasgow. Frankly, the time spent at Weston Farm felt like a "destination experience" all by itself. The sheep, cattle, horses, chickens (not to mention peacocks) make their home on 900 acres of rolling fields of green. The tempo of the farm cleared my head in ways I had long forgotten.
Hillary and Cary were extraordinary hosts: the food and conversation were satisfying to the extreme. As for the accommodations, the farm house was "authentic" and very comfortable.
In short, Weston Farm is a precious find.

The warmth of the welcome and the wonderful food made our spring break delightful, even in a cold east wind with snow flurries. The setting was spectacular and the house was a gem. We hope to return soon and see all the new calves and lambs.
