A little gem tucked away in the rolling hills of Juliasdale. Given the options to travellers in Zim this is one of the best, the rooms are a little dated but very clean, cosy and in a beautiful setting. Exceptionally friendly and warm staff and a nice dining/lounge area with fireplace. Food didn't excite but was well done. The guides deserve a special mention for their efforts taking us on a driven safari (small but diverse collection of game in decently sized private reserve) and walk to the top of the stunning Ruparara rock (bit of a hike ~20mins, but worth it).

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms overlooking the valley not the pond.

The service was excellent, though we were one of only two guests. The food is average, though the soup and sandwiches were good for lunch. The hotel is overpriced at $120 per adult and $75 per child B&b with one activity. These include horse riding ( we got covered in ticks!) and game drives (the vehicle was so ancient the smoke billowed into the back each time it stopped moving!). You cannot walk without a guide, though there are no dangerous animals except perhaps baboons. The guides and hotel staff are excellent, and its a shame its not busier, but they should really be in the $80 and $40 for kids bracket and make activities extra, and push family specials in the school holidays.

I have to say this is one of my favourite hotels. It’s a real country retreat, tucked away and nestling in a small valley.
The rooms are so comfortable, the décor in keeping and spotlessly clean. We have stayed in the same room a few times now and just feel so at home as soon as we arrive.
The view from our room over looks the “Ruparara Mountain” and is stunning. As we sit on our private balcony (all rooms have one) we are entertained by small birds darting about in the trees singing away. It’s a great place to relax.
Our morning tea always arrives on time with lovely home made biscuits.
All meals are included in the price and the food was always top quality, imaginative and well presented. The dining room is stunning with wooden floors that make a comforting sound as you walk on them.
The sitting room is likewise beautifully presented, with tasteful décor and little touches that make the place special. Fabulous arrangements of the most beautiful African flowers adorn the sitting room and reception.
The staff are well trained, experienced and always welcoming. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
We enjoyed the activities that are also included in the price. The game drive was an adventure. There are leopards in the area but we were not lucky enough to see one. The sunset we watched was spectacular but it can get a little cold once the sun has gone down so it is a good idea to take warm clothes to put on.
We go to Zimbabwe to play golf and there are two 9 hole golf courses close by, neither in tip top condition but we enjoyed playing them as both courses are a good challenge.
Inn on the Ruparara is a special place and we have no hesitation to recommending it.
