My girlfriend and I stayed there for a couple of nights in June. Silvio is very welcoming, patient and friendly, and even with limited English we can still communicate with smiles and hands :).
The place is ideally located in a small village, on a quiet street with great rooftop views on the surrounding landscape and of course the Etna. It's easy to go hiking on the Etna from there, with a guide Silvio sourced for us and regularly works with.
Rooms are spacious enough, clean, tastefully decorated and beds are comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and includes a wide selection of pastries, fruits, yoghurts...
Not to be missed: the family (?) of turtles in the small garden downstairs.
Overall, a great address!

Room Tip: Downstairs, near the turtles' garden

Silvio runs a great BB. Located excellently to make all necessary visits to the central east coast of Sicily, Etna, Taormina, Savoca and even Catania (despite being a city, in my opinion, ugly and expendable) .

Silvio makes you a welcome worthy of kings with a tasting limoncelo and recommend you on all what you want. Always remains on you a feeling that he directs you to their friends (especially if you want to make a trek to Etna, recommending you the guide Fabio). But in any case, all the recommendations are highly recommendable (especially the trattoria Santa Maria della Scala, in Scalo Grande, if you love fresh fish!)

The BB has its its main asset in the large terrace with full views of Mount Etna and the vast lemon trees in the surrounding area. There breakfast (a very good one) is served and there you can enjoy the fresh air if you like. The rooms are correct, clean and with everything you need, and has small courtyards shared with some other few rooms. Parking is free for guests in front of the hostel.

Free wifi is only available in common areas.

Silvio gave us a bottle of sicilian white wine as a farewell present!

A great choice if you want to be away from the noise of most tourist points, but at the same time very close to visit all of them (and always being watched by steaming Etna!)

We stayed two nights, which was way to short. The delicious breakfasts on the rooftop with view on the Etna, the village and the sea are unforgettable. So is Silvio, on the most helpful of host we've ever met, despite speaking very little English. He made all the difference in terms of finding the best things to do, including arranging a snorkelling excursion at 11 pm for the day after. Stazzo might seem out of the touristic path, but that feels good, and you're still a five minute walk to the sea, and very close ot the Etna, to Taormina, etc. In terms of room, ours was on the ground floor, no view, but a very nice bathroom.

We stayed 4 nights here and really enjoyed our visit. Stazzo is a quiet little fishing village near a lot of wonderful Sicilian sites. Silvio is very helpful-- although he speaks little English, he tries very hard to communicate information with enthusiastic gestures. The breakfast terrace has breathtaking views---the sea on one side and Mt. Etna on the other. We particularly enjoyed the self-service fresh orange juice machine and the gourmet coffee maker--as much as you want of each! Do not miss hiking on the slopes of Mt. Etna -- our walk up the slopes with the abundant spring wildflowers was one of the highlights of our 2 week Sicilian visit.

We got lost and were late arriving form the Catania airport, 1.00 a.m. in the morning! Silvio made us feel very welcome anyway. We were settled in a lovely room with our own garden space. Slept like lambs! Next morning....amazing breakfast on the rooftop op the Palazzo, with views of the Etna! This is why we came to Sicily!!!!! We stayed 4 nights (originally intended 2 nights), and loved it all. Silvio got us a very good guide (Fabio Cannavo) for walking the Etna. Amazing experience! Fabio obviously knew the Etna like a dear old friend. The rest of our stay very happy. Great tips from our host Silvio for restaurants. We had an amazing moon light diner at his recommendation, including wine-tip 'Maria Costanza Bianco'.....oh wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Silvio really looked after us. Wondedrul experience!
