We stayed at Nordre Ekre just one night, but I will remember our dinner at Nordre Ekre for a long time. Most of the ingredients were local, and assembled in an inspired and thoughtful way. The pepper-marinated trout starter and the spiced berries with whipped sour cream for dessert will stay with me a long time.
The wine list is short, but the wines by the glass that are suggested for the menu was very well paired with the food.
"Local" cuisine in this part of Norway has a tendency to drown in butter and cream. Not so here. The menu is also excellent value for money - it would easily cost 20% more in Oslo. There really is no reason to pass this little gem by.
