“Classic Catalan dishes”
Reviewed 24 November 2013

We were taken to this restaurant for a traditional Catalan meal. There were several choices with a wide range of meats available. A generous salad was served family style to begin the meal. Each person in our party of five ordered a different dish and they all arrived hot and as ordered. The salad and vegetables were very fresh. Everyone was pleased and impressed with the meal. Likewise there were numerous dessert choices and everyone in our party was pleased with their dessert. We appeared to be the only tourist there during our visit. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely return to this restaurant and highly recommend it.

“Nice Place for dinner”
Reviewed 9 August 2013

We went to dinnee on a summer night. This is a family managed restaurant. Menu is fair, 21€ and quality is outstanding and food amount very generous. My choice was carpaccio d'anec (duck carpaccio), very good! all the grilled meat is superve too. Traditional home made desserts are very nice too.

“Great place to eat”
Reviewed 15 March 2013

We have been going to this restaurant for a long time - having first discovered it when we visited Castel Gala Dali - and it is one of our favourite places to go when we visit this area. We thought it would be a bit of a tourist trap because of its situation, but it is patronised by many local people as well as tourists visiting the Castel. We have never eaten a la carte but have always visited at lunchtime and had the menu del dia. This is excellent value and full of authentic catalan dishes. The staff are all very pleasant and the owner and her daughter speak a little English and are always happy to try and translate the bits of catalan we don't understand. The dining room has nice views over the countryside, and proper tablecloths and napkins, always a bonus. The peppers stuffed with salt cod are lovely. If you choose the menu del dia, then payment is by cash not card. The menu del dia is not served at weekends or on bank holidays. The restaurant opens at 1 p.m. for lunch and it is served until around 3.30-4.00 p.m.

“Museum requirement; spend the night, have dinner here”
Reviewed 14 December 2012

My wife and I did the Dali tri-vecta, his house, then his museum and then the drive to Pubol to visit La Pera, Gaia's Palace. By maddeningly traffic, missed turns, etc., we got to the ticket office half hour before closing and they wouldn't let us in. What to do? We had already paid for 11 nights in Barcelona, our 8th day into the stay and we didn't want to go back without seeing the Palace. A girl waiting Bar at the Can Bosch poured and excellent Grey Goose and Tonic, with the customary token of 3 small ice cubes in the chimney glass (note the Restaurant didn't open til' 7 and it's 5:30). She then called a B and B, drew us a map we went to check-in having secured dinner reservatons for 7:30. Our B and B mentioned in the rough guide was $59 Euro's, second floor private balcony and included full breakfast for two. Back to the Ca Bosch, the owner who only speaks Catalan has a huge 5' x 7' black and white photo on the wall with a small boy in front of a carriage with Dali and Gaia, it's him. He's now a grandpa. It's his granddaughter who is now the hostess and she does a wonderful job table waiting and visiting with guests. She went off to college in Scotland and came back to take the reins of Grandpa's Restaurant as the other immediate family members did not have the apptitude to do like wise. We ate the posted Menu of the evening; a Catalan version of Beef Wellington-DELISH, salad and Creme Burle', two roosters of house red intertwined with fabulous discussions enjoyed with both Grandpa,he still runs the kitchen, and Grandaughter who seemed to be everywhere at once without the slightest effort. One of those un-expected evenings you'll never forget. The tab would not be fair to publish, as we were treated more as long lost family than customers. Note; we don't speak Catalan and he didn't speak English, none of that mattered, the accomadations were newly re-furbished and the morning breakfast was splendid. The Castle/ Palace tour was a treat and all and all a favorite part of our trip. Go out of your way to see this place, S. Dali had lived in the house four years, a fire in the master suite spooked him into leaving this lovely place and there's more to the story....Visit and find out
