“Best Winter Vacation in Spring...Ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2013

My Lover, his parents, my sister and I rented the Minnow Suite March 29th until April 2nd 2013. We rented for 3 nights and the 4th night was free which is always a bonus. When we arrived the sun was just a shinin and lasted the whole trip! We had a hottube on our balcony overlooking the frozen lake and it was awesome. Enjoyed cooking on our own BBQ and making an Easter Turkey dinner in the suite!
Fishing was on our agenda but we thought that was ruled out with the frozen lake and no Auger. Luckily, Len the Manager borrowed an Auger for us and we were able to walk way out on the frozen lake where we ice fished, had a huge fire, roasted wieners and sun tanned! I've never done anything like that and I'm thankful Idabel Lake offered us a new exciting experience.
There's a game room where we enjoyed playing pool and Ping-Pong.
Our suite was just awesome and the beds were soooo comfortable. Len the manager was very helpful and nice and catered to our needs which was much appreciated.
I would recommend this place to anyone and I would love to go back in the summer when the lake is not frozen:) Just remember, no cell service so enjoy your peace and quiet!

We have done Idabel Lake Resort for over a decade. When I say we I mean a close group of very good friends and family. We go up every winter for long weekends and cross country ski, snow shoe and skate. The nearby Kelowna Nordic Ski Center is one of the best for groomed cross country. We have also done Idabel in the summer and swam, canoe'd, and mountain biked the KVR trail. The facilities are nice; the BBQ's are always clean and the gas full. The hot tubs are always warm and clean and the steps are a great addition Len! Len and Melana are fabulous hosts! Bar none. Always helpful and courteous and willing to do whatever it takes to make things right for your trip. They make reservations and changes a breeze. Great place for family trips as well as romantic weekend without the kids. We have done both! We love the place. Thanks!!!

Room Tip: The Minnow has great views of lake and a nice hot tub on deck as does the Summit next door. We have...

A group of Kelowna quilters just spent a weekend at Idabel lake resort. Had a wonderful time. Could not have been better. Len took care that everything was just the way we needed it so that we could have a fun weekend quilting.
Our rooms could not have been better and after a long day and night of quilting the beds were just wonderful. We plan to make this an annual weekend if at all possible.

We had a great time at Idabel Lake for a quilting retreat. We each had use of a hot tub, which was a blessing after a long day spent over our sewing. Good food, great company and a wonderful facility. The view every morning from our room was incredible with the sunrise. Will definately be back for the next one.
I might even invite the family to this quiet get away place. They have BBQs and playground with a beach and fishing.

Had a wonderful time at Idabel. Barbequing, fishing, playing, hiking, 25 mins from Kelowna, and general R and R by a picturesque lake. Len, the host, was great and provided us with all is to know about the area.

Games room for the kids, free boats and life jackets, and everything one could need for a getaway. The hot tub in the Summit room was really nice. Also, loved out timing as it was extremly quiet and relaxing. Truly luxury camping! Looking forward to our next getaway there..

Room Tip: If you want a really relaxing time go when it is low season..

Just got back from a weekend at Idabel lake resort, we had a great time!!! We stayed in the Summit Suite with my family (4 adults, 3 kids aged 3, 2 and newborn) and had lots of room to play and enjoy the space. The suite is stocked well with linens, dishes, games, books, etc... and small hot tub on balcony was an added bonus!! The beds were comfortable and overall the suite was very nice! We enjoyed going on the boat and trying our luck with fishing, and the suite even came with an electric motor for our use!!! My kids loved the swingset and pirate ship boat, there is also lots of balls and sporting equipment available for use of guests. On our last night we had a camp fire. We had a great weekend away , just wish it was longer!!! The staff is super friendly, the resort is a great place to get away from the craziness of life!!! Will be returning!
