We stayed at the gite for a week, very well equipped and comfortable. Great welcome from owner who kept in touch to make sure all was well. View from balcony was breathtaking and we spent evenings and early mornings sitting enjoying a drink. Easy walk to bakers and several restaurants. We would love to return.
Jean-Philippe's property is a lovely place to stay. It has two comfortable bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a nice bathroom with a shower, and a small courtyard. But its greatest feature is the second-floor terrace that overlooks an astonishingly beautiful valley. We sat there both evenings we visited, watching the sun set in the distance and the swifts ride the wind currents. Those hours were the highlights of our stay in France.
Sainte Suzanne is charmingly quiet. The Gite is inside the ramparts (hence the name!) and thus there is very little car traffic. In the village main one finds an exquisite church, small shops, and several cafes. There is an audio tour that offers an account of local history (the Normans, the English, and so on) and ends at a modest chateau. Hiking, biking, and visits to nearby destinations are all at the ready. Jean-Philippe is exceptionally kind and helpful to his guests, as are many of the other residents of Sainte Suzanne (we felt warmly welcomed by the neighbors). Couldn't recommend this property more!
