“Wonderful stay”
Reviewed 22 August 2012

First of all, the host is wonderful. Anne is very friendly and regardless her manor is so charming, she is quite keen to give you some advise what to discover in the region. Excellent location, specially in couple or honeymoon. She also caters and organizes wedding parties. Lovely stay.

Amazing property with an awesome hostess, Anne.
It is truly a luxurious manor that is very well maintained and decorated with all of the finest items available.
Each small detail is thought off!!!
We love B&B and have stayed at many fine homes but never a manor and we loved it!!!
The early evening glass of wine with hors d'ourves with Anne and other guests made it so much more enjoyable....it was like having a private surprise party that you didn't have to organize.
Highly recommend it!!!

All I can say is wow! Being new to the B&B World i was totally impressed with the owners hospitality as well as her attention to detail. We sat and talked for a hour or two over a glass of wine and appetizers that were amazing and she made it feel like our home. It was a great experience and the house is just beautiful. I know if I'm in the area ever again I will stay there!! It was Clean, Clean, Clean!!!!! I don't think I will stay in a hotel ever again. The breakfast was amazing in the main dining room right next to the window overlooking the property and St. Lawrence in a distance. Thanks Anne(Owner) for making our vacation a thing to remember.

We booked a private dinner party for 15 people at this absolutely stunning venue. We had an excellent meal prepared by the Brockberry Cafe and served in an elegant well decorated dinning room. It was a perfect way to celebrate a special occasion, we felt like we were at home being able to enjoy cocktails while wondering through the newly renovated home while not having to worry about cooking and serving a delicious meal. The rooms are all beautifully decorated and the attention to detail is worth seeing! The service was second to none and we would highly recommend staying there or hosting a dinner party / event there like we did.
A fantastic evening!

What a wonderful overnight stay I had with 3 friends.....and to think I only live about 10 minutes away. We were absolutely spoiled by our hostess Anne Cox and we luxuriated in the extremely comfortable and opulent suites. We took full advantage of the grounds sitting first on the porch and then the east and rear patios. We marveled at the view of the river and enjoyed watching the magnificent freighters glide down the river. You will not be disappointed should you decide to visit and stay at Maplehurst Manor.

Room Tip: There isn't a bad room....hope that helps!!!!

It was by chance that I spent a night at Maplehurst Manor. Over- booking at a Brockville hotel left hotel staff scrambling to find alternate accommodation for me and a colleague. Thank heavens for the over-booking. We were re-directed to one of the most beautiful and 'manorial' of possible locations just 7 minutes east of downtown Brockville.

The approach to the manor is what one would find to the great houses of England. A vast, well-tended lawn leads to an historic residence built in 1828 in the Regency style. Looking back down the drive one has a clear and uninterrupted view of the St Lawrence River and the American shore on the other side. The simple, classic elegance of the exterior is matched by the perfect restoration of the interior spaces - excepting, of course, the perfect retrofitting of mod-cons demanded by the 21 Century visitor. Both the entry hall and the dining area have chandeliers that would not look out of place in Rideau Hall.

Anne, the owner of Maplehurst Manor, greeted us with glasses of fine chilled white wine and made us feel perfectly at home within moments of our arrival. Like many others from Belgium, Anne is a polyglot and would feel comfortable speaking to guests in six or seven languages. She made sure that we and the other guests felt comfortable and at home and she didn't leave us until almost midnight.

The breakfast was full, fresh and delicious - far better than the fare one would have at a hotel.

My greatest regret was that the original booking problem in Brockville that had led to our re-direction to Maplehurst Manor was resolved. I would have very much preferred to stay in the spendor of Maplehurst than return to the fully functional, but wholly sterile environment of a chain hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful and roomy. None have noise problems.

Having just spent 2 nights at the recently opened Maplehurst Manor, I highly recommend adding Brockville/Maitland to an itinerary in eastern Ontario. The house, with it's magnificent principal rooms, has been beautifully restored and elegantly furnished. I stayed in a spacious bedroom on the 2nd floor with a vey comfortable bed, Crabtree & Evelyn amenities, a comfy robe...and a beautiful view of the river from my window.

Anne prepared delicious breakfasts each morning and I enjoyed having coffee on the balcony overlooking the grounds and the St. Lawrence. Anne also offered some great suggestions for visiting local sights and shops and she helped me to organize my dinner arrangements each evening. And all while I enjoyed a cold, crisp glass of wine with some lovely canapés!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Maplehurst Manor and hope to return again in the very near future.
