“Girls Spa treat”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

Two friends and I booked a morning spa package which originally included a two course meal. We asked if we could change the meal to afternoon tea as we were celebrating a birthday and they were more than happy to accommodate this. The surroundings of the hotel and spa is gorgeous, luckily it was a sunny day and we were able to sit outside on the loungers and relax. The spa is not huge, but this adds to the beauty of it. Unfortunately, there was no availability for treatments as we booked late but I will definitely return and try the mud treatment. The afternoon tea was served in the Morrit hotel which is adjoined to the spa, it was delicious and the staff responded to all of our dietary requests. Thank you for a lovely experience!

“Best Friends Treat”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

My friend and I booked up last minute for a bank holiday Monday it was the morning package which includes a two course meal at the Morritt.
We arrived a little before 9 and were warmly welcomed went through the plan for the morning including chosing our lunch options and were then given a guided tour (it didn't take long before we were in our bathers relaxing) everywhere looks fantastic, felt very clean and well designed too. You get an individual locker each and that contains flip flops, dressing gown etc. There are plently of things to keep you occupied for a half day spa without treatments, but I would suggest giving at least one a go!
The comunal facilities are Salt room, outdoor jacuzzi, indoor jacuzzi (in a barrel) then hot and cold barrels, a Sauna outside (lots of chill out areas) a steam room, iced water availible all day.
There was only two of us, and another couple so we kind of managed to politely avoid one another all morning which was nice, I am not sure what it would be like if they had larger parties of people....
Anyway we are still keen to re-visit :)

“Amazing spa”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

The facilities in this spa are fantastic. The surroundings are gorgeous and the staff only to happy to help. The treatments are rather pricey but worth it. Simon was amazing at reflexology. It would be nice if some arrangement could be made for guests staying the hotel (virtually adjoining the spa) to have a reduced rate even just for using the facility's but other than that a beautiful day and I would certainly go back.

“Fabulous spa experience”
Reviewed 12 April 2014

I attended the spa and morrit hotel with my boyfriend as part of the court yard package. On arriving at the hotel at 9am, the receptionist was very welcoming and explained our dining arrangments and when our room would be ready. We entered the spa, welcomed openly by two beauticans and asked to fill in usual consultation paper work. The enterance inside and outside was clean and looked new, felt like we were in a small cottage. The atmosphere was calm. We were given a tour of the spa and provided with individual lockers which had a bag in them inside where flip flops, gown and clear plastic bag for swimwear. The changing rooms are more like small ensuite bathrooms with sink, toilet, shower and spas own products to use. As part of our package, the treatment was the mud pit ritual. This involved being directed into a small room with tiled walls, marble benches. The room is lit with various colours by the lights in the ceiling creating a relaxing atmosphere. You are expected to use the bowl of mud above where the steam comes out. Placing the mud all over the body and then the lights will change which is when the steamer will start, it becomes reasonably hot but not uncomfortable. Both of us felt the heat but it was relatively relaxing. Then the steamer will become hot then cool whilst the lights will change. Towards the end of the treatment, you will apply the salt scrub to remove the mud from you whilst a light shower of water comes from the ceiling on both sides. Should you need more water there is two hoses beside you to use, we only used it for our feet as the mud had become hard and to wash off any missed mud from our backs. We dried off in the cubicle next door with silky smooth and glowing skin. Well worth it! We had an hour gap in between the full body massage to finish off our treatment so we decided to try the salt room. This room consists of a wall with an image in front of you that appears to look like marble with different colours with 4 seats in it. We found that this room didnt appear to be doing anything however, we both felt relaxed enough to almost drift off to sleep but this was interupted by a loud hissing noise from above us which startled us and other guests too. At a guess, we think it may have been salt being pumped into the room. We worked our way round the jacuzzi, hot and cold barrels, steam room, external jacuzzi and wooden sauna. I agree with the other views that if there are many people in, you do have to move on to something else and keep a watchful eye for your chance. But, as there are other options i dont feel it is an issue but something to be made aware of. After lunch time is when it appeared busy but then slowly died off. We stayed in the spa from 9:30am until 6pm including having an hour lunch. We kept trying the different options. I sat outside for a little while with a glass of water which is offered throughout your time there and can be found on little tables in the spa area. The full body massage was very relaxing so much so I fell asleep! Following this, we paid extra for the hot tub on a private balcony. Luckily for us, it was sunny and the hot tub stayed hot/warm. We asked for some alcoholic beverages and they arrived swiftly. I did presume that we would be have a view but sadly not. It is a decked small open space, if you stand up, you are looking onto a roof top and inbetween a gap can see the fields. I wasnt too disapointed as it was still a relaxing experience and something a bit different to try. I would describe it as sitting in a large hot/warm bathtub outside with your boyfriend! The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, clean and well kept. Hardly any noise coming from our gold standard room, number 2 as underneath appears to be where the smokers congregated underneath our window however we could not hear them when the window was closed. Four poster bed, not very big if you have a 6 ft 3 inch boyfriend with you as his feet were squashed a little, however due to the treatments both had a good sleep even with his feet swinging out of the bed. Clean bathroom with shower in and room too. Cooked breakfast was delicious and locally sourced products, I enjoyed the croisants and homemade jam aswell. Highly reccomend both the spa and hotel, will definately be returning!
