“Excellent stay .. A must try ..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014 via mobile

It was a hard decision to come here , just relying on their other property "le pondy " in pondicherry I planned to stay here ..
Yes , my decision was right .. I thourghly enjoyed ..
Pros : superb heritage rooms with garden outside ..
Spa rooms were very normal rooms but the masseur "sreesh" was excellent ...
The beach looks to be far , but after enjoying the sea which was clean (though a public not a private one) everything seams near
Food ... Being a vegi , I was little worried but to be true the food was best ever I had till date.. Try specially dal makhani

Cons : there was no play area for kids
Price : everything is costly .. Foods , even water ...
Rooms too but u can bargain (in vain) ..
Very much interested in foreign tourist than Indian ones ( felt like ) out of some 10 rooms occupied i saw just 2 Indian old couples ..
Swimming pools are not atall safe , my kid got hurt ..
Final words .. If u love nature and peace ... Give a shot .. This hotel is excellent ...

We booked a trip for our parents to Kerela. They had a stay in Travancore Heritage (Beach Grove) for 2 Nights. Location is great. But the staff is very rude and ill mannered. Food is overpriced and the hotel people do not pay any attention to guest's needs. My parents are vegetarian and asked for less spicy food when they ordered dinner. But on the contrary the curry was very spicy that my parents had to throw away the curry. In name of salad they gave few pieces of carrots and onion which was highly priced again.

Breakfast was included in the booking. On the last day (2nd day), the hotel guy told you don’t have access to full breakfast and can take only few 3-4 limited items from breakfast menu, though we paid for 2 nights which includes breakfast. I have never heard of this. It is so mean. My parents are aged and cannot eat few items in those which they said they can have. On a whole, it is a very bad experience in the hotel. Hotel should learn to avoid such miser steps for profit even after overpricing.

Super hotel, nicely spread out, great pools and fantastic treatments at very good prices. Excellent staff and service all round. Good food good clean rooms and very peaceful. As mentioned in other reviews not really a beach destination due to very strong currents in the sea and not the most hygienic of beaches although parts are ok. Only a short 300 rupee hop to Lighthouse beach in a Tuc Tuc (500 return) although don't get the taxis and Tuc tucs from directly in front of the hotel as they overcharge. Overall a smashing place to chill at the end of a tour.

Rooms (our Room No. was 75) are excellent. But rooms near the beach are very far from the reception & Dining Hall. Rooms surrounding our room (Nos. 70+) had at least 7-8 minutes of climbing & walk, followed by 'lift journey'!!
Otherwise it is an excellent hotel.

Room Tip: If you wish a good room near beach, select room nos. around 70+. These rooms are modern & spacio...

Excellent hotel. Nice staff - particularly (and huge thanks to) Sreeja, who was our waitress, and offered us such great service.

However, please take note: don't come here for a quiet beach holiday. The beach is a good 20 minute walk away, and down a cliff. The beach is not clean and the sea is very rough. If you want a beach go to Kovalam or Varkala.

Room Tip: Facing the sea

We had a three night stay at the Travancore heritage from 15-18th of April.
After doing the golden triangle in the north and some time in Cochin and Alleppey we wanted to end our holiday to India with some relaxation and downtime.
And the Travancore Heritage delivered...the staff on arrival were very friendly and helpful on our arrival and our Chalet overlooking the beach had a real old world charm that we really loved and complete with a nice veranda and swinging hammock outside.
My partner Annmarie loved the treatments on offer and even I had one myself which was very relaxing and enjoyable..the treatments, food and drinks were very reasonably priced of which was welcome as hotels in the north on the golden triangle are very expensive and a bit of a rip off.
Everything from the rooms, pools restaurant were well maintained....except for the gym which was poor really. The food at the buffet was very tasty and always plentiful.
The only disappointment we had really was the beach, there was a lot of rubbish around and not maintained.
Overall this hotel ticks all the boxes if you want a couple of relaxing days at the end of your travels...if you are looking for something a little more upbeat with more activities i would suggest elsewhere. We enjoyed our time there.

This was the last hotel of our trip around Kerala and our favourite. It was a tough choice but this was truly beautiful. The main building and dining area was lovely and overlooked the delightful pool and gardens.
There was plenty of outside space here. The path through the garden led down past some very interesting self-contained chalets to our block of apartments (2 floors of around 12 rooms?). Our rooms (we were two couples) were airy and comfortable with a lovely balcony looking out through the trees to the beach and Arabian sea.
A small lift (manned) takes you down to a larger block of apartments, a beachside bar and another pool area. We liked it down here as it seemed a little quieter than the upper pool - not that it was that busy either.
Dining here was a real pleasure. The upper dining area is beautifully laid out with pleanty of covered, open air space if preferred. As usual, the staff were great.
My son and I were told there was a pool table on an upper floor but the 'games room' looked pretty disused and in a sorry state so we gave it a miss and retired to the lower pool and bar!
We are definitely thinking of returning for a longer stay as we were only here for three nights before heading to Delhi.

Room Tip: We stayed in the upper apartments. The lower ones are a bit of a way from the main area and I don...
