We were on a walking holiday in the Jura and le Tillau was our next stop. As we came out of the woods we could see this charming challet, with gerainiums hanging over the balcony, nestling down the bottom of the pasture. We had a warm welcome and I managed to make myself understood with my broken french. We booked in for two nights here as it was such a nice location and we could do circular walks from here. Unfortunately, my husband had eaten something bad at the previous hotel which meant that he stayed in bed all the following day. This was a shame as the evening meals were very good and hubby was not well enough to eat them or breakfast. Breakfast was also one of the best for selection that we had so far had during that week. The chef even made a vegetable soup specially for my husband. The trout was very tasty and a good selection of local cheeses. I do not ski but if I did I would be very happy staying here in the winter as the rooms were a good size and the en suite was clean and well stocked for a good shower and hair wash. We should have done a 21k walk on the day we left but hubby was too weak. The owner kindly drove us to our next hotel in Switzerland. What good service!
