Pros:
Beautiful countryside ; jacuzzi and pool; free parking ; spacious rooms; golf facilities;
Cons:
Cleanliness; receptionist incompetence; expensive breakfast; beds with dip in the middle; pool excessively added with chlorine that makes your eyes burn; no slippers and bathrobes; no chargers at the reception; dirty kettles; not replenishing with shampoos and gels;

Clean,modern,good service and good value. Rooms along the race course are modern and very nice. Stayed for 2 nights when Thoroughbred racing meet was on and had a blast. Very good and best option in the area. Reasonably priced as well.

Room Tip: Room by race course

We went for a spa night for a birthday. The spa was lovely and the staff were really nice.

We went to have lunch in the bar area which was fairly overpriced, after being ignored by the guy in a suit talking about his 'trakky b's' for 10ish minutes the waiter eventually came over who couldn't understand english and WE had to go round to the kitchen to ask something about the scones.Lunch was ok.

All was ok until there was a 'powercut', we sat in our room for a good couple of hours with no tv, no air con (was a really hot day with 3 sharing a room),the restaurant was out of action, the shower stopped working due to the 'pressure' breaking too and our loo wouldn't flush. After a few calls to the desk and being told 'its not the hotels issue' the manager came in and gave a bottle of champagne-although they would've completely ignored us if we hadn't kept ringing.
We couldn't get ready for dinner until 8 and had to get a taxi to the town to eat.
Breakfast was nice and for the first time during our stay we was welcomed by a very nice gentleman called Ray who treated us really well, proper service which we did expect throughout in a Marriott hotel but unfortunately did not receive from the rest of the staff.

Just spent three days at this lovely hotel for a wedding. It is a very relaxing modern hotel, we had a suite on the first floor which overlooked bothe the golf course and the racecourse which was really nice. The room was clean and plenty of space. The food was really good, the buffet breakfast was plentiful and there was continental options too. The pool was nice but a little too warm for us. I used the spa for a facial and a massage which was really good. All in all it was a pleasant stay, one we will repeat at sometime.

Room Tip: We had a first floor suite and did not have any problems with noise, so I would say any room would b...

Visited a few times to use the spa.
Great value for money and super relaxing spa environment.
The pool area could do with a little more wall art - looks a little bland, but the relaxation room is lovely as is the sauna and aromatherapy steam room.
Used the Serail steam bath and highly recommend it, as well as their food - yummy!

Stayed here for a two night break for a race night. The room we were given was overlooking the golf course and had all the amenities that one needs (shower could do with re-grouting as mould/discoloured grout not too pleasing to the eye). The room was the hottest I have ever stayed in as the air conditioning system was not working properly. I did report this to reception and maintenance man did pop along, but after tinkering with the system for 5 mins it was just the same when he left. Now my biggest complaint would be the service at the bar, whilst all the staff were friendly and pleasant they really were not the quickest at serving drinks, everything was at a snails pace, even though the bar area was packed with people waiting to be served. I have worked in the hospitality area for over 25 years, and I have worked and organised major events and the staff working on this race day/night would have not been working for me again unless they upped their game considerably, there should have also been more staff on knowing that an event is happening. This was the same even when the bar wasn't busy on the previous night, staff just chatting to each other and looking busy doing nothing. If you enjoy the races the hotel is great for convenience, however if I were going again I would probably book a different hotel near the race course due to the issues we had with service.

The cost of the room (B&B) was around £420.00 so I feel that waiting in excess of 25 minutes for a drink is unacceptable especially when you are a resident in the hotel.

Regarding the pool / spa, there if very limited chairs/loungers to sit on and feel that a few more chairs around the side of the pool would be greatly welcomed, as we needed to put our towels on the floor.

it also might be an idea for the hotel to consider putting a couple of chairs on the balcony as it was a lovely weekend and I would have loved to sit on the balcony for an hour or so to read.

We went on a race night and were given a room overlooking the track which was great The room was very modern but comfortable and spacious there was only a shower but no bath but that was only a minor issue We had afternoon tea dinner and breakfast all of which was very good. The pool was warm but has no outside view If you play golf there is a course here Would recommend if you like racing golf or want to chill out
