My friend and I popped in here one lunch time because we fancied proper pub grub not the commercial tat they were serving up the road in the chain pub.
Lots of choice on the menu.
I opted for the chicken in breadcrumbs with lettuce and mayo in a baguette. My friend just wanted a salad but there wasn't any on the menu.
We asked the delightful and welcoming barmaid and she said no problem. What would you like. My friend was most satisfied. He had a ham salad. None of the sliced packet ham you'd expect but proper thick sliced ham off the bone.
Mine also came with chips.
These were to die for. Triple cooked so very crunchy on the outside but so fluffy inside. We both agreed they were the best chips we've ever eaten.
We both took doggy bags home as there was so much on the plates we couldn't eat it all.
Inside the decor was old fashioned and tired looking but perfect for a British village pub.
All in all a very nice experience.
Can't wait to go back for an evening meal as there was a lot of very nice dishes on the menu.
Mussels, swordfish, sea bass to name a few.
