It is an okay option for those who need to stay near the Impact convention centre.
The hotel has an Egyptian theme and a nice breakfast for locals.
Most of the staff does not speak English at all but the two receptionists helped me by translating and communicating with taxi drivers.

If you plan to visit tourist sites in Bangkok it is best to stay in the city centre as this hotel is very far (after crossing many toll gates) and many taxi drivers do not know the way.
the closest metro station is also far so you will need to take a taxi first and then a metro to get into town. big waste of time and money.

There are few taxis in the area but they don't speak English as this is not the usual tourist area, not many nice restaurants nearby so we ordered room service mostly
but the food is not thai fusion and not suitable for foreign tourists as its very soupy. the locals seem to be enjoying it though.

*no kettle in rooms for tea/ coffee
room service doesn't always understand your order as they don't speak English
asking for anything extra or different from the menu is a struggle
but it was an interesting experience as we saw a more genuine 'thai' culture / food
away from the city/ tourist areas.

we chose this hotel on price, which was ok and its proximity to the impact arena as we were to attend a santana concert. there is virtually nothing in the vacinity of the hotel to do or eat unless you like thai street food, it is 500 metres from the main road, a tip if you are walking out turn left, we turned right and into a dead end, the area is a light industrial estate with some dwellings. leaving for the impact arena was easy as the staff booked a prompt taxi which was 65 bhat on the meter going, be warned coming back is a rugby scrum of illegal touts quoting up to 600 bhat for the same 15 minute journey, we settled for 200bhat as it was nearly midnight. a trivial point, we waited outside reception for the taxi and i was badly bitten by mosquitoes, a first for me in urban bangkok. as posted before the hotels main clients seem to be chinese tourists who are bussed in and out, there was also a large group of teenage tennis players staying, but they were all competing and we heard nothing form them at night, in fact the hotel was deadly quiet the night we stayed. we werent able to check the bbq resaurant as it closed as we got back from the concert. would we stay again, a qualified yes and only if we were attending the impact arena, this is not an hotel for backpackers or solo travellers or indeed families, there is nothing to do within any reasonable distance and without a car or use of taxis of either sort, ie bike or car, you are completely trapped. on the upside the staff were excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was as large as you wished, but as usual in this type of hotel, served cold.

Due to a convention at Impact Muangthong, the international convention centre, we've decided to live at hotel nearby. Luxor Hotel, is one of the best choice nearby within a mid range budget & worth the value! It's very clean and new with exotic Egyptian decoration. There is a restaurant and a bar with pool table & karaoke. Although it is very quite nearby but there is a cafe beside the hotel with great barbecue food at night and cheap beer. The only thing that I can picked on is most of the staff couldn't communicate in english well. We've some trouble in communicate with them. The service is good, staff always be there for us.

Room Tip: Book online & print out the map & address.

Booked in by work as close to the IMPACT Convention Centre.
What a great website but in reality what a DUMP
Hard to get Taxis to / from there as it is in an Industrial Zone
Nothing around so forced to eat at the terrible restaurant with terrible service.

The rooms were dirty and in need of some serious refurbishments. The Free internet kept dropping out which was very annoying and slow.

Quite popular with Chinese tour groups so the Buffet breakfast was a feeding frenzy with about 60 people (2 buses) trying feed and leave before 8am

The best part of this experience was checking out and even then it took 30min for them to sort me a cab.

On the plus side, it was very quiet and apparently quite cheap

Room Tip: Only book in here if you have no other options or are expecting little value for money.

This is really out of the way but you can always take a taxi. It is really comfortable and the food was great. I was there for 5 days and it was nice to be out side the busy city at night. The people were very helpful and I would go there again. But yes it is out in the middle of no place.

Room Tip: ask for one of the two story rooms. Furnishing very unique.
