After spending 8 days there, we have mixed feelings about this place. The grounds are beautiful, and also the bungallows , you can see that a lot of attention was paied to every detail, so this could be a wonderful place to relax and escape from the stress and hassle. It's a pity that some details can spoil the fun, especially if you arrive with high expectations. We had two main issues: the food and the service. When you are the only dining option in kilometers you cannot offer such an in inconsistent service. Each night before going to have dinner we were wondering wich dish to order (as the variety of available options was quite limited) and how they will mess it up this time. Every day there was a missunderstanding and we had to send back food several times. Thai food was not tasty and European food was just a poor imitation. Being under French management, how can they call a big chunk of fried chicken "Cordon bleu" ? Also, breakfast was just a joke for a four stars hotel...Because there was almost nothing, we ordered each morning scrumbled eggs and the result was each time different ! Even the waitress was laughing on that (our guess is that the mess was in the kitchen, not the waitress's fault). Also the coffee is undrinkable...
Another issue was the cleaning staff...their only concern is to protect themselves from the sun, paying no attention to what they do. I noticed that they were throwing away everything they considered unimportant, like food and drinks and other personal small belongings, One morning they entered without my permission and they were so absorbed talking to each other and laughing that they didn't even realised I was in bed.

To make it short, these are the pros:
- nice surroundings
- great pool
- beautiful and clean beach (of course, only in the limits of the hotel)
- free bikes and kayaks
- beautiful bathrooms
- secluded and hassle free
- great massages

and the cons:
- breakfast
- restaurant not at the same level as the hotel
- unprofessional staff

All in all, it's a beautiful place that can be excelent if they manage to improve the food.

The resort is a very nice new structure with a well maintained garden, pool and its own private beach. The bungalows are clean and comfortable right on the beach. There is a nice terrace as a restaurant. On the beach you can use canoes and surf boards. There are also bikes for the guests. You can rent motorbikes. Times goes fast. Breakfast simple but enough. The place is in between Trat and the Cambodian border. A bit isolated but you can still wonder to a few villages around. The management very cooperative and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at the MANGO: the staff is incredibly helpful, the rooms are spacious and very modern, the whole resort is tastefully decorated and the beach is cleaned everyday.
If any problem at all would occur either Valerie or Louis would take care of it immediately.

After 6 days I can honestly say that (last but not least due to its remote location) the MANGO is one of Thailand's last hideaways....

Room Tip: Literally EVERY room in this resort is a great choice, because they are all nestled in the lush-gree...

My week at Mango Beach was a real pleasure. It was both a great place to spend lazy days in the sun and also a good base from which to explore this still very authentic part of rural Thailand. I stayed in an idyllic beachfront bungalow, steps away from the sea and even with the resort close to full occupancy the atmosphere was very peaceful. Good food throughout the day at the restaurant - particularly the fish specials - excellent cocktails, a great Thai massage on the beachfront platform and unparalleled sunsets over the sea. The hotel provides free bikes and kayaks and I found these a good way to explore the coastline and countryside and I even extended my stay by several days in order to go a little further afield. I would recommend a visit to the beautiful fishing village of May Rood - one of several day trips organised by the resort - as well as a short boat ride across the water to the island of Koh Kood. I had a wonderful week away at Mango Beach and I am already looking for a chance to go back. This resort is a real find.

Planned on staying just one night on the way to Cambodia, had to stay another. Wonderful staff, a very helpful overworked manager Louis and a quiet peaceful location. Having spent my first and last night in the cesspool they call Pattaya, Mango Beach was just what I needed to feel good about Thailand once again. The Thai food that comes out of their kitchen is as good as I've found anywhere in the country. Will definitely tell my friends and will certainly be back.

Room Tip: Being solo I booked a poolside room which was exceptional, I'm sure the oceanside rooms would be...

We spent 4 nights in a beach front bungalow towards the end of November.
Whilst we had visited Thailand once before, this was our first trip to the Trat area. We drove down from Bangkok in around 5 hours. Roads are good and drive was relatively stress free.
There are newly erected signs to the hotel so previous comments about difficulty in finding the resort are no longer relevant.
The beach is small but was fine for us and the water was so warm!! There is also a large swimming pool.
The bungalow was very roomy with a good sized bathroom which contained a shower, whirlpool bath and twin basins. Everything internally was clean and in superb condition. My wife was so taken with the towels on the bed, shaped in the form of swans, that she had the camera out within seconds of our arrival.
Breakfast was fine but there was a limited choice of food.
We ate there in the evening a couple of times and we were more than satisfied with the meals.
This is a pretty quiet location which is ideal for relaxing and doing "not a lot"
Staff were friendly and very helpful.
The relatively recently appointed French management team are working hard to make "improvements" where necessary and I am sure they will soon achieve their goal.
Would definitely give this place a big recommendation.

Looking for a beautiful, clean and very friendly resort on a nice and quiet beach that's the place to go! It's managed as professional as at home, caring a lot for details as well, and we felt very welcome. We really enjoyed the privacy and the superb beach front bungalow and very much the good service. After two month of traveling in Asia we spent our last week there and it was just perfect to relax! What you get for the price is over the top! Very positive, we will go back.
