“Stay here--you'll be so happy you did!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

From the moment we arrived at Dreamcatchers, we knew we found something truly special. Chiang Mai was one of our first stops on our honeymoon, and we arrived jetlagged and hot. The property is tucked away in a quiet leafy little neighborhood just far enough from Chiang Mai to be relaxing, but close enough to get in and out of the city easily. Upon arrival Annabel greeted us warmly and we immediately felt whisked away into a perfect, shady, little oasis far from the heat and craziness. We stayed in the King Deluxe suite, which overlooks the beautiful pool and has more than enough space for two people. The food is top notch--our breakfasts out on the patio (try the delicious homemade yogurt!) every morning and home-cooked Thai dinners are some of my fondest memories of the trip. The staff is warm and lovely, and Annabel made us feel at home. She is the quintessential hostess, and we loved getting to know her (and her sweet dogs). We felt very sad to leave--like we were saying goodbye not just to a wonderful experience, but also some wonderful new friends. We can't recommend Dreamcatchers enough--we'd go back in a heartbeat!

Dreamcatcher's is well named--a resonance of the peace available in an enchanting setting, close enough to Chaing Mai city for explorations, yet removed enough for a much needed respite from the bustle of town. We stayed in the spacious suite on the upper level, enjoying morning coffee overlooking the gardens and pool below and listening to the awakening of nature.

There is a large pergola by the pool where I was able to combine pleasure with just a little work--free wifi. Breakfast was a delicious repast (we tried to replicate that homemade yogurt!) and we also enjoyed a couple of dinners, reasonably priced excellent fare with the congenial, very interesting Anabel overseeing all.

Bike rides along local lanes and the river, a major shopping expedition to Hang Dong suppliers of stores around the world--great to buy from locals--even had our Ganesha blessed by a monk and the fabulous teak kinari (angels) gracing our stairway mean that our Dreamcatcher's B&B experience lives on.

Our stay in this very special place made for long lasting memories as denouement to our years in Asia. Highly recommended!

Don't look any further, this is the place to stay in Chiang Mai. This is our fourth stay with Annabel, her wonderful staff and lovely dogs. Since our first stay, we became good friends with Annabel and it's always a pleasure to be back at her B&B because we feel at home. We love her breakfast and if you decide to have dinner there, the food is delicious and fresh. We stayed in the orange room which is very large and clean. There is always something new to do in Chiang Mai and Annabel always find the best activities for us at a great price. Bicycling trip, Mahout day with elephant, good restaurants, good taxi driver, ziplinning, cooking class,.. name it Annabel has something for you. We can't wait to get back next year again. Much Love to Annabel and her staff especially Khun Sumchai.

My husband first visited Dreamcatchers in 2013 and decided to bring me, his wife, and son back in April 2014 for the Thai New Year Songkhran. Ducked in a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Chiang Mai, it is convenient and a short drive to all the attractions and shopping that Chiang Mai offers. The setting is awesome, decorated with beautiful Thai decor with all the modern conveniences. You can relax in this peaceful setting as well as enjoy the pool that has a beautiful elephant wall and cascading water. Food, staff excellent. Rooms spacious with private balconies. From the very first contact on the internet, Annabel is awesome. Her goal is to make your visit as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. She has great ideas, can make arrangements for outings and transportation, or to have a massage at the poolside or in your room. She also speaks English, French & Thai. Annabel and I spend several nights talking, laughing, and sharing several glasses of wine. It was like spending time with a long-time friend. Excellent choice--a quiet, peaceful Shangri-la close to Chiang Mai. Thank you, Merci & Kop Khun Kha

My boyfriend and I spent the last week and a half in Chiang Mai at this great little bnb. We loved Dreamcatchers. We had the blue room, on the ground level, with our own private balcony over looking the canal. The room was great, especially the fact that the showers and toilet were separated. Annabel was not there for the entire time that we stayed at Dreamcatchers, but her staff are just as helpful and sweet and we had no problems. The breakfast was delicious - homemade yogurt and museli and great omelettes.

We were a little freaked out when the coup occurred - we had e-mailed Annabel before coming to inquire about the safety of the protests and such and she reassured us that everything was fine in Chiangmai and that as long as we didn't attend the protests themselves, everything would be fine. When the coup occurred, she made sure to contact us to make sure we were okay and help explain the situation to us. She convinced us to remain for the rest of the trip and it worked great. Even though with the coup there was a curfew, we were able to do all of our daytime activities as normal and we had a lovely, lovely time. We felt very safe and welcome at Dreamcatchers.

Room Tip: We had the blue room and it was great! We wish though we had taken the deluxe suite on the second fl...

We stayed at this wonderful B&B after reading only good reviews on Tripadvisor.

Room
We stayed in the room directly facing the swimming pool. It was perfect for us who love swimming. Since it was the hottest time of the year, we took advantage and jumped into the pool as many times a day as we could. The room is spacious, and we loved the lounge area in the room. The housekeeping made the bed everyday. There is no safe in the room, and the room key is not provided. I, being always nervous about losing passports and cash while travelling, felt challenged. When the owner Annabel said "you don't really need the key, don't you? It's safe here." I felt a relief. It was a message that you can trust the staff, other guests, and the neighbourhood.

Facility
The property has its best time in the past, but that gives you rather a relaxed homey feeling. It gives you a feeling as if you are an expat living in the suburb of Chiang Mai. At the entrance hall, there are a cluster of sofas and coffee tables. We read books and browsed the Internet in the evening while Annabel worked on reservations next to us. We enjoyed exchanging occasional conversations with Annabel across the room. There are two friendly dogs who love being patted. They were quite patient with my daughter who always wanted to play with them. There are indoor and outdoor dining area. We sat outside to enjoy the weather for breakfast and dinner.

Location
The B&B is located outside the city of Chiang Mai. It is hard to find and explain to the non-english-speaking Thai driver, so we only used the taxi drivers recommended by Annabel. We took a taxi for 250 baht each way to access the city center. Once we hired a taxi driver to go sightseeing at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and waterfall. He not only took us to the temple but explained a lot about the area, its history and his becoming a monk as a child. Instead of taking us to the touristy waterfall filled with Farangs (foreigners), he took us to the quieter yet beautiful waterfall where the locals have a picnic with friends and families.

Food
We must have been a difficult guest since my husband was vegan. For breakfast there is a wide range of food like pancakes, eggs, muesli, and hams available. We especially enjoyed the seasonal fruits like mango and pineapple. I personally loved Annabel's homemade yoghurt with maple syrup. For dinner Annabel and her staff Khun Won made special menu to accommodate us. Annabel made a children's portion of chicken wings and salad for my daughter, and Khun Won cooked a creamy and spicy vegetable curry for my husband. One night we enjoyed dinner with other guests and played cards before and after meal.

Staff
What makes so special about this B&B are Annabel and her staff. They are very friendly and have eyes for details. Once I told Khun Won about a certain kind of Thai flower I like. Next day she comes to work with two lei of those flowers for me and my daughter. We did not have much plans in Chiang Mai, but Annabel suggested us so many things to do. Her honest opinions through her experiences were exactly what we were looking for.

Thank you very much for making us feel at home at your wonderful B&B. We send our best regards to your staff, Khun Won and Khun Somchai.
