“A perfect stay in Chiang Mai”
Reviewed 8 December 2010

We came to Chiang Mai at the time of the Loy Krathong festival and wanted a nice and peaceful place to escape to, away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
Dreamcatchers surpassed our expectations.

Annabel is a wonderful host, and both she and her staff are genuinely friendly and caring. We stayed in the 'blue room' which was spacious, tastefully decorated with beautiful furniture and textiles, and had all the amenities we needed. The room also had a terrace at the back facing a small canal, which was a bonus.

A nice pool area and excellent food were among the other highlights.

Annabel has a good knowledge of what to see and do in the town and its surroundings, and listening to her advice saved us a lot of time and helped us getting the most out of our stay.

Highly recommended!

After a day cycling dreamcatchers B&B was a perfect place to stay.
Host Annabele welcomed us enthusiastically and made us feel comfortable.
The relaxed atmosphere, pool and massage recharged our batteries and the excellent food filled our stomach.
The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped.
The only recommendation I can give........stay there and experience it yourself.

We were on a family vacation with 9 adults and a 1-year-old infant, and the villa was a great alternative to booking separate rooms at a hotel. We had reserved the whole villa, so in addition to the 4 bedrooms (spacious, clean and homey decor), the communal living room and dining area were great for our group gatherings. We also enjoyed hanging out by the poolside lounge area, and having massages there. It was, unfortunately, too cold to enjoy the lovely infinity pool.

The food at Dreamcatchers was one of the highlights of our stay. The breakfast is as good as any that you would find at a highend hotel, with a made-to-order hot daily special in addition to the continental buffet spread. For dinners, we sampled numerous things on the dinner menu, all of which were very good. The desserts were scrumptious--with the Apple Pie deserving an honorable mention! One "con" is that you have to put in dinner and lunch orders in advance, so you cannot spontaneously order "room service" like you would at a hotel.

Annabel was a great help in planning our trip. In addition to making suggestions planning the daily itinerary, she helped us to arrange a commuter van each day so the remote location of the villa was not an issue. Most tourist destinations were within a 30 mins drive. She even helped us to call restaurants and tour vendors to confirm our bookings, which was much appreciated since some places don't speak very good English.

All in all, we were very pleased with Dreamcatchers. For our large group, especially with a fussy baby, having the whole villa to ourselves worked out perfectly for us. After a busy day of sightseeing, we were always grateful to have the villa to "come home" to.

We went in November and rented the whole villa for our family -- the villa is beautiful, and relaxed enough that you feel like you could hang out all day there! Lots of common areas to spend time together and separate rooms when we needed to relax alone....We had massages by the pool and Annabel was incredibly helpful with planning everything, from small requests to accomodate a baby to helping us figure out our rock climbing adventures! Annabel is incredibly passionate about the place and making sure her guests have a great time.
By the way, the breakfast pancakes are the best - and if you eat dinner/ lunch at the villa, do not miss out on the fudge cake (a la mode, of course)!

Husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 5 day stay at dreamcatchers B & B in Chang Mai. Our host annabelle, was fabulous. She immediately made us feel welcome and was a wealth of information. Her services were well thought out and very much informed. Upon arrival we were given a chance to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of her quiet escape on the edge of town. After settling in to our spacious and clean room, we sat down with annabelle to discuss what we would like to do for the week. She gave us useful information and was not pushy as to which excursions to take.
our trip was a success because of her ability to make arrangements for us with different companies such as a biking tour of the old city, a day with elephants at Patara training camp, a full day use of taxi to make stops and be shown around factories and wonderful recommendations of places to hit up in town as well as the markets.
We were also able to arrange for a thai massage in our own room. Private and relaxing with a home-made dinner awaiting us afterward.

Never a dull moment, and so much relaxing to do around the pool and dreamcatchers. We enjoyed wonderful home-made breakfast every day with our requests taken immediately. Homemade yogurt and museli was delicious!

We had a one night getaway with 4 moms & 4 8th grade daughters. Annabel took great care to help us to have a fabulous time. The rooms are gorgeous and roomy, and the attention to detail is fabulous. We live in Chiang Mai, and will continue to look for opportunities to visit Annabel and her team.

Dreamcatchers B&B is by far one of the most outstanding places we have stayed in.
The Lanna-style houses are spacious and beautifully decorated. You are made to feel very welcome and the balance between privacy and being catered for is exactly right. If you have any questions or requests (e.g. organising an elephant tour, massages, laundry etc.) you can speak to the owners at any time and you can be sure it will be taken care of immediately.
The B&B is about 11 km away from the city centre which means it is quiet and relaxing. However, it is no problem taking trips to the centre and elsewhere as there are taxis cooperating with the B&B. There is a very reasonable fixed price and all taxi drivers can speak some English. Only if you want paint the town red every night this may not be the most comfortable arrangement for you.
Breakfast is excellent as you are served fresh local fruit, a special of the day (e.g. crepes, omelette, waffles, eggs to your liking etc.), home-made yoghurt, fresh bread and more.
The pool is beautiful with sun-loungers, hammocks, a pretty water feature and plants and flowers around it.
We would recommend Dreamcatchers to couples who like to stay in Chiang-Mai but still want to have some peace and quiet or families.
We can honestly say that if we come back to Chiang-Mai we would always stay there again.
