We have been to this restaurant a number of times, both for lunch and dinner. On this occasion we went for lunch. There was an excellent choice both of food and wines. We chose the 27 euro menu which was beautifully cooked and presented. The soup (obligatoire) was superb, don't be tempted to skip it just because its a hot day!
Service was of the highest standard. All in all a restaurant well worth a visit.

Great food. Great service. We had a lot of under 10s and they enjoyed it as much as us. Very tolerant, helpful staff and the meat (lamb, duck, beef) was all sensational.

We went for late lunch after a visit to Château de Monbazillac which is just up the road. At this time on a Tuesday we were quite lucky to get seated in the conservatory/outside space as it was very busy. There was plenty of space inside though. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and has a laid back atmosphere, especially at lunch.

The menu was somewhat complicated, but there were enough English-speaking staff to help us with that (combined with a liberal use of Google Translate). We opted for a three course set menu for €23 which, for the quality of food on offer is outstanding value. You'd struggle to get food of this quality back in the UK for close to this price.

I started with a Bloc de foie gras which was delicious. For our main course we all had the confit de canard (which is like roast duck). This was outstanding - the best piece of duck I've eaten - with crispy skin, incredible flavour, and tender meat. They were served with some strong garlic potatoes which were also nice, but very strong so be aware if you don't like garlic (I loved them!)

The desserts were a little less inspired and felt a bit generic. They were delicious, but not as interesting. I will still left with an overall excellent impression of the restaurant, and the staff seemed very friendly. This is a very popular establishment and I can certainly understand why.

There is a fairly large amount of parking at the rear of the restaurant, though this may not have been sufficient if the restaurant was at capacity.

If you're in the area I'd strongly recommend a visit to La Grappe d'Or; you will not be disappointed!

We were directed to this restaurant ,which we have passed a number of times, by the owners of Pomport lake. Unfortunately, altho offering a kids menu , the restaurant didn't really cater for children. Our grandchildren, who are used to France and are fairly adventurous, coped with the rustic postage (soup) & confit canard on the bone but the majority of English children wouldn't. Full marks for presentation tho - each child's plate bore their name in a balsamic glaze. A nice touch but the kids didn't like the onion garnish or the balsamic glaze. Ice creams went down a treat tho!

Friendly, helpful service, good food and a nice ambience on the terrace & would recommend to couples, adult parties or those with teenage children but for our toddler grandchildren, I would have preferred a more child friendly menu.

We needed the conservatory roof as the heavens opened on a wet Sunday evening early in July. We booked for our family with 2 babies & were given a good service. The menu was a little confusing to start, but we were able to make our choices once explained. There was a lot of duck on the menu - but hey, expected here & everything we had was well cooked & presented. The restaurant is located on the D933 heading out towards Montbazillac & you need to keep driving up the hill & around the bend - near the top on the right hand side. Has it's own car park & just 5 - 10 mins out of town. It's highly rated at time of writing so worth to book as we found also quite busy.
