“French Delight”

This was our first stay in this area of France and what a treat it proved to be. The property is situated in an on the edge of village (Monbazillac) location in an elevated position on a hill side with breathtaking views of the Bergerac & the Bordeaux countryside.
The house is large with spacious and comfortable accommodation and well equipped plus the added benefit of a large Conservatory, there is also a laundry room.
The 4 double bedrooms & 3 wc’s are arranged on 2 floors.
There is a splendid outdoor pool which is heated and a good size with an automatic electrically operated cover. There is also a covered area to escape the mid-day sun with plenty of chairs, loungers and tables around to have drinks & food at during the day and evenings.
The house also benefits from a separate laundry room, a sauna and car parking for 3 cars.
Highly recommended.

“A Perfect Holiday”

After a long 2 day drive from Derbyshire in England we arrived to be greeted by Philippe and shown around his beautiful home. The house was so spacious, well-equipped and spotlessly clean . Everything we needed was there, with lovely furniture in the bedrooms and a breathtaking view from the 2 bedrooms with small balconies. The large salt water pool was amazing, we spent a large proportion of the day in there at a beautifully warm 30 degrees. The lighting outside at night was magical and our teenage boys loved listening to music from the conservatory music system whilst swimming. The large wet room was another attraction with a sauna to relax in. We had a lovely meal at Philippe's restaurant which was always busy. We loved buying warm croissants and delicious bread from around the corner. The historic part of Bergerac was a delight and we ate there a couple of evenings. Thank you for a perfect holiday.

“Great Villa with Fabulous Views”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This is a great house with generously sized bedrooms - lots of storage for all your luggage! It has a lovely swimming pool overlooking vineyards across Monbazillac. The location is very good with the centre of Bergerac being 10 minutes drive away. There is a local boulangerie and a great restaurant La Grappe d'Or.
The property has all the utilities you would need - clothes dryer, dishwasher, cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine. There are some luxuries which we didn't get to use such as the Jacuzzi bath (in the upstairs bathroom) and the sauna (weather was far too hot!). We made good use of the BBQ - perfect al fresco dining by the pool on a balmy evening.
The air conditioning was a blessing downstairs in the beautiful conservatory on the hot days but it would have been great if it was available upstairs during the hot nights. As there was 6 people staying, we felt that we could have done with access to a third bathroom with a shower.
We did have a wonderful week here in time for Bastille Day with a great group of friends and overall, the villa was perfect as it ticked all the boxes for its location and facilities. Would definitely visit again.

Tips:
- You must dine at the La Grappe d'Or. Phillipe who runs this restaurant (the owner of the villa also) is a superb host. A great menu available at reasonable prices. We didn't take advantage of the food delivery service by the pool!
- Bring your own towel for the swimming pool and sauna.
- Do pay a visit to Château de Monbazillac. Beautiful views and great wine.

“Great location”

Arrived late to a welcome by Philippe and a tureen of his "world famous" soup. Very comfy beds and spacious accommodation. We made full use of the large conservatory and outside seating complete with vineyard views. Breakfast was bought fresh each morning at the boulangerie just a few yards away, the fruit tarts are a must. Also just a few yards away is Philippe's restaurant, if you like duck you won't be disappointed. All in all a lovely relaxing place.

“A lovely home with stunning views”
Reviewed 7 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

My husband and I along with our two children aged 10 and 8 stayed in this lovely villa in August 2013. It is the owner Phillippe and his wife's home which is probably why it felt very cosy and homely. There was a lot of attention to detail and the bedrooms were pretty and comfortable. The sitting room was a kind of large conservatory, in that it had large glass doors on two sides which allowed stunning views of the vineyards even when indoors. There is a large swimming pool with steps and a shallow end for younger children. The villa was spotless and the kitchen well equipped. There is a jacuzzi in the bath uptairs and the downstairs bathroom also houses a sauna. Phillippe owns a restaurant, L'Grappe D'or which is a 60 second walk from the villa. You must eat here at least one night as the food is excellent, especially the soup! There is also a boulangerie very near to the villa which was handy in the mornings! Although the restaurant and boulangerie were nearby they did not detract from the privacy and peacefulness of the villa. The villa is situated in an ideal location, about an 8 minute drive from Bergerac airport and a 5 minute drive from Bergerac town centre and the supermarket is a 3 minute drive away. Chateaux di Bridoire is about an 8 minute drive away and you must visit it especially if you have children as the whole of the outside grounds are filled with games for the children to play. Phillippe is friendly and helpful. He is only a minute away (in his restaurant) should you need anything. I would definitely stay here again.
