“Peaceful, relaxing stay in the Dordogne”
Reviewed 9 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

After living in a bustling city, les Chauprenades provided us with all the relaxation we needed. Beautiful countryside and wonderful walks, seeing some local wildlife in picturesque surroundings. The gite was perfectly thought out, it was obvious that a great attention had been given to the details of equipping the accommodation, in particular the kitchen facilities. Brian and Hilary were excellent hosts, there at hand when needed, but not at all intrusive. As potential property hunters they also provided us with a great deal of good advice and local contacts. Thanks again for making our stay in the Dordogne so enjoyable.

“Rural France at its best”
Reviewed 16 January 2016 for a stay in September 2015

Spent a week at this lovely barn conversion in the hamlet of' ' Le Mig 'just a few kilometres from Bergerac. The open plan layout , with new fittings throughout, is ideal for two people. (the shower room is immaculate ! )
The surrounding countryside is typical France. Quiet roads, just right for walking or cycling AND the vineyards of Monbazillac are nearby (try the pudding wine ). The British proprietors who live in an adjacent cottage are very helpful. On their website they promise to 'go the extra mile' for their guests . They do .

“Perfect all round”
Reviewed 10 January 2016 for a stay in November 2015

Other than a short break to Paris many years ago this was our first visit to rural France. The accommodation was perfect, a traditional gite but with all the modern amenities. Immaculate throughout the property was an ideal base to explore the local area either by foot or car. Several towns and villages are within a short drive offering wonderful food and wine and all very reasonable too. When we visited the front terrace was not finished but there is a second private terrace to the side of the house offering a secluded space to enjoy the sun. We spent five days here and it was a great mix of privacy but with Brian and Hilary on site to give good advice on where to go and invaluable local knowledge. We will return for sure.

“Wonderful, relaxing stay at a stunning gite in the wine growing area of Bergerac”

Just returned from a thoroughly relaxing New Year break at the beautiful gite 'Les Chauprenades', set in the rolling hillsides of the Bergerac wine growing region.
Brian and Hilary couldn't have been more welcoming, there to help when needed, but also very discreet , we enjoyed complete privacy and tranqulity in their wonderful, recently refurbished gite.
Furnished to a very high standard, every little detail has been well thought through.
The perfect location for touring the famous vineyards of the area and then, later at night,
the stargazing is breathtaking.
We wouldn't hesitate to plan a return visit, in the hope of ticking off a few more famous wine labels and to enjoy the hospitality of Brian and Hilary and their fabulous gite.
It's a real privilege to be the first to write a review, we wish them great success in their exciting venture.
