We stayed for one night and will definitely go back again if we are passing through the area. We stayed in a superior room facing onto the cricket pitch and I have never had such a good nights sleep away from home. The bed was huge and very comfortable and the room was blissfully quiet. The room was newly decorated and pristine clean.
The staff were friendly and the food in the bar was excellent value and very well cooked.

Dear Steph A,

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay here with us and made you feel welcome.

We had our Deluxe rooms refurbished at the beginning of the year and it is lovely to hear people's kind feedback and that they love them as much as we do.

We hope we can welcome you back again.

Kind regards,
Hugh Calvert

stayed here for 1 night. Room overlooked the river, lovely bedding and toiletries. Dinner was excellent and so were the staff. Breakfast was only just passable as it was served on a tiny plate and we were seated at a tiny table, hence, when tea/coffee arrived , it was full, so had to put bits on the seats when our food arrived, it was a joke. We were told we could only sit there, however, people arrived after us and were seated at a much larger table !!! Staffcouldnt be bothered to make us larger table up with cutlery etc. Shame, as everything else was lovely.

Room Tip: ask for water view as some rooms overlook the carpark

Dear Jayne J,

Thank you for your review.
We are pleased that you were happy with your bedroom and enjoyed your dinner, we do pride ourselves on our locally sourced, seasonal meals.

With regards to breakfast, we do have some larger tables allocated for larger parties which may have been the case, however, our staff are usually very accommodating and I am surprised by this and will look into it.

We hope that you will come back and visit us in the future.

Kind regards,
Hugh Calvert

Just 10 minutes out of Cirencester where I was working so ideal.

Set in a quiet village with a stream running by the side.

The room was fine with some nice touches. A few details let it down and looked a tad dated, e.g. single glazed windows. Saying that it's a peaceful area so no issues with noise. The room had a decent size radiator which got really hot so warmed the room up very quickly. Thermostat on it to so the temperature was great.

The food in the bar/restaurant was superb. I had Oriental Pork Belly. Well cooked and well presented. Breakfast was good too.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel as a base to exploring the Cotswolds. The room was quite large and very clean with a lovely view over fields and a small river. There was ample choice of cooked or continental breakfast and the one evening meal we had was delicious. A good base from which to explore the beautiful villages. Very close to Cirencester. Would recommend to others and would stay there again if in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river.

My daughter and I took a last minute trip to Cirencester, and needed a place to stay. We found a reasonably priced room at Crown of Crucis, and drove down that evening, arriving at 9pm. We found it easily, and we were warmly welcomed by the receptionist. We were shown to room 2, which is off a little courtyard with a central water feature. I imagine in Summer this is a lovely place. The room was very clean, but as it was last decorated about ten years ago, it could really do with some updating.
Unfortunately, I did not sleep at all well. We had two single beds, and my daughter slept fine, but I found my bed so hard, and the 2 pillows incredibly thin. I woke up with back ache, having woken every hour. The info pack stated that there are extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe, but there were none to be found.
In the morning, we went to the restaurant for breakfast. The waitress was not very friendly, waved dismissively at a table, and walked away. Breakfast was included in the room rate, and we helped ourselves to fruit juice and cereal. The waitress returned and served tea and 2 slices of toast. We looked at the menu for hot food which was on the table, and were astonished at how expensive it was. £10.95 for a full breakfast...and the same price for an omelette. Sorry, but no way would I pay so much for an omelette!! We were unsure as to whether the cooked food was included in the room rate, and were more than happy to go without if it wasn't. The surly waitress returned, and asked if we wanted cooked food. I asked if it was included, she nodded. I felt a little cheap to have asked! We decided we'd had enough in there, even though we had a long day ahead. We checked out, again by a different but very friendly receptionist, thank goodness. Not sure if we would stay again, it's a lovely area, and I can see that in Summer this is probably a lovely place, just a couple of things let it down this time, and a re-furb is definitely due.

Room Tip: The rooms face on to a lovely courtyard. If you like a window open at night time, have a upstairs ro...

Dear innerpsystem

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you did not find the beds to be satisfactory, unfortunately we have to have beds regulated by the AA and these may not be to everyone's comfort. With regards to Breakfast I feel you have miss understood the prices the £10.95 is not just for the Cooked Breakfast you get Coffee/ Tea, Toast, Cereal, Yoghurt, Fruit, Fruit Juice plus the cooked breakfast which we feel is very reasonable. With regards to our staff, we have had many compliments about the service they receive and I am astonished about your claim and I will look into this.

We do hope you will return in the future.

Kind Regards

Hugh Calvert

Made a spontaneous decision to head to the Cotswolds and used the Crown as a base. Convenient, yet quiet, this turned out to be an excellent choice and very good value. The room was a good size (and warm in freezing temperatures). The reception received from John was a great introduction. It's not every day that you are greeted with warmth and enthusiasm (and yes, the hotel was busy!). After a restful night and a good breakfast - the adventure continued!

I had a business meeting with hot food in the upstairs snug. Great value and superb "posh pub" feel to the place with exposed beams and mix of board room table with comfortable sofas at other end of Snug. Doom Bar ale from the bar downstairs that we brought up to our meeting. Friendly staff and tasty food. will definitely be back.
