We went to Patmos with family and fiends and Skala Hotel is perfect for souch occation. We met many guests saying that they come back year after year, and this summer will be our third... Once you've visited this beautiful island and The Scala Hotel it is hard to find an alternative. The hotel is set back from the road, quiet, has a nice salt water pool, its tidy and clean. This is far from a luxury- hotel but a nice, affordable, family-run, friendly and quiet alternative. At the same time it is in the middle of Skala with tavernas, cafes, shops etc, it is just that you don't notice in this beautiful quiet garden. The island has many different beautiful beaches so do not miss out on all the alternatives, ask in the lobby for good advice. Young and old loved it and it seems like we now have a tradition.

We spent 2 nights in Skala hotel; well situated near Center village; lovely frangrant honeysuckle tunnel when arriving. Lovely pool. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Nice size rooms with balcony planted with bougainvillees. Value is ok (45 Eur/night). A peacefully stay in that lovely tiny island.

The Skala Hotel is conveniently located, five minutes walk from the ferry terminal. It is set back from the road, surrounded by an attractive, perfumed garden and is nice and quiet.
Our room and the spacious public areas were clean and tidy. Our room had a balcony and a great view of the harbour and port. Furniture was pretty basic, but comfortable. The bathroom was well designed, with plenty of space to store toiletries and the water pressure in the shower was good. Unfortunately the bathroom also featured an ancient hairdryer which barely worked.
The beds were comfortably firm, but lacked mattress protectors. This is a pet peeve of mine. Just think, with no washable cover, you are sharing your bed with everyone who slept and sweated there before you!
The staff were welcoming, well informed and very helpful. They added to the pleasant, friendly ambience of the hotel.
Breakfast buffet was a little sparse, but the food was good and the coffee strong.
There was a very good salt water pool.
Wi fi was a bit hit and miss. It worked well in public areas, but not so well in our room.
Overall, this is a good place to stay on a lovely island.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor with an ocean view. Very nice.

This hotel has an overall pleasant atmosphere. From the very convenient location next to the harbour to the bougainvillia's in the courtyard and the light colours of the rooms, everything contributes to that pleasant feeling. Not to forget the breakfast under the leaves in the courtyard or the swimming pool. But above all,the friendliness of the staff makes the hotel so attractive. The manager and receptionists are very helpful and accommodating. Therefore, certainly a place to go back to.

We came here as part of a tour and the experience was great.
The staff was friendly and spoke very good English.
Location was super- close to city center shops and cafes.
Nice size room with good A/C.
Did not sample breakfast as we wanted something other than buffet and went to cafe for French toast.
Walls between rooms very thin though. You can hear neighbors talking & their tv & wake up calls.
Great tv and selection of stations.

Room Tip: Try and get a room next to a vacant one as the walls are thin

This is a lovely hotel in a great location near the harbor in Skala. You can walk from the ferry to the hotel. You enter through a covered walkway to a beautiful courtyard and fountain after leaving a busy street. The owner and staff are very kind and gracious. This is a larger hotel for Patmos and hosts a lot of tour groups, but the rooms are clean and well equipped. The breakfast is great and you can sit on the terrace and have a wonderful view of the monastery and the cave of St. John. After walking all over Skala, this is definitely the place to stay for location, amenities, and friendliness of staff. Room tip. Ask for a room with a balcony and a view of the monastery.
